February 4, 2015
I’m continually amazed by you, Northside UMC! There are so
many ways through our church to use the gifts and the passion
that God has given to each of us to serve God by serving
others.
Your church staff was ‘in charge’ of Room in the Inn last
Monday night. We thoroughly enjoyed preparing and serving
dinner to our guests, but where I received the biggest blessing
was watching those in our church who come to Room in the
Inn on a regular basis. You know many of the 26 men who
were staying here last Monday night. You know their stories,
you have developed relationships with them, and you give them
encouragement. By your continued actions, you are the hands
and feet of Jesus to them. Last Monday night you were doing
what you do each Monday night, and watching you blessed me!
In early January eight Northsiders began meeting weekly to
receive 50 hours of training to become Stephen Ministers for
our church. They are: Terri Thrasher, David Rothermel,
Candace Copeland, Holly Roolf, Richard Barlow, Julie Phillips,
Nancy Jeffery and Cameron Mathenia. They meet each Monday
night with Stephen Leaders: Rowland Fisher, Debbie Holmes
and Daphne Moses. Stephen Ministers provide weekly one on
one Christian care to those going through difficult times. To
become a Stephen Minister is quite a commitment, and I ask
that you pray for this ministry of our church and our current
Stephen Ministers and these going through the training now.
Another opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to
hurting people!
Where is God calling you to be in ministry? There are over 130
opportunities to be in ministry on our Ministry Opportunity
Sheets (green sheets). If you haven’t figured out where God is
calling you – please let me help you sort through the options.
I am honored to serve with you!
Blessings,
Daphne

"ALL IN", written by Pastor Don, is the upcoming small
group study. Pastor Don states in the study we will be
asked to look seriously at what love is and what love
compels us to do. It is more of knowing the heart of Christ
so we can live more like him. It will be a call to be "ALL IN"
to follow Him, and love like he loves. The study is based on
Luke 9:23 and 1 Corinthians Chapter 13.
The last day to sign-up for a group is Sunday, February
8th. You can sign-up after all three services in the Narthex
and outside of Hope Hall. Participants may also get a copy
of the study at the sign-up table on February 8th.
