Emergency Procedures
540 West Madison has several emergency
procedures in place to ensure the safety of all
tenants. We have partnered with Building
Safety Solutions to create interactive,
customized emergency preparedness
training. To access the preparedness training,
click here and enter password: 1234.
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
After notifying the appropriate authorities of
the situation, call the 24/7 Security Console
at 312-374-2828 to notify personnel to
ensure that the medical or responding
authorities are directed to your space as
quickly as possible, as well as, to ensure
that an elevator is immediately available for
use.

Café and Vending Services
Parking
A full-service café is located on the
second floor, available for all tenants.
The hours of operation are 7:00 am to
2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Vending machines with soda, bottled
water and snacks are provided in the
cafeteria 24-hours a day, seven days a
week to accommodate tenant needs.
540 West Madison has both a surface parking
lot and a secured parking garage. Access to
the parking garage is provided via an
entrance and exit on Washington Street.
Access to the surface parking lot is also
located on Washington Street. Parking is only
open to Tenants that have contacted ABM
Parking and filled out the proper paperwork.
ABM Parking will issue and maintain access
cards and clearances. Authorized Tenants
are prohibited from using their access cards to
allow non-authorized individuals into the
garage or surface parking lot. ABM is located
on the ground level in the retail corridor of the
building or can be reached 24/7 by calling
their Call Center at 855-234-0260.
Concierge Services
Exclusively for the use of 540 West
Madison tenants, we provide complete
corporate and personal support through
our worldwide network of business,
entertainment and leisure vendors.
Corporate Concierge can assist in any
request from the ordinary to the

Maintenance Requests
Retail Information
Bank of America ATMs are located in the
retail corridor at the Madison Street and
Washington Street entrances. Starbucks is
located at the corner of Clinton and
Washington Street. Hours of operation are
5:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Starbucks can be reached at 312-463-0331.
Roof Garden
The Roof Garden is located on the 6th Floor
at 540 West Madison. Weather permitting; it
is accessible to tenants from May 1 until
September 30 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Smoking is not permitted on the Roof Garden.

Introduction: Welcome

All Madison Street entrances (except the
handicapped access door) are locked from
6:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m., Monday through
Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. All
Washington Street entrances are locked from
6:30 pm until 6:30 am Monday through Friday,
and all day Saturday and Sunday. For security
reasons, an access control card is required for
afterhours access via the handicapped door at
Madison. 540 West Madison will be officially
closed on the following holidays:

the Building Management Office is available
to help in any way possible. Your first call for
any problem or question can always be

Security: Overview

Vendor/Contractor Access
540 West Madison Security Officers
are available 24 hours a day. In the
event of an emergency, security can
be reached at 312-374-2828. In the
event of an emergency where 9-1-1 is
called, please then call our Security
Personnel at 312-374-2828 to alert
security that an emergency call has
been placed.
Should a vendor or contractor need to
perform work in your suite during
non-business hours, provide written
notification to the Management Office that
states the name(s) of the individual(s)
and/or company, date and approximate
time they will be on site, and confirmation
that the COI is on file with the building.
Visitor Access
Property Removal Passes
To remove business property items from
the building, a pass must be approved
and presented to Security personnel
when departing the building. The
property removal pass form is available
in PDF form by clicking here.
All visitors must be registered with 540
West Madison Security via the visitor
registration system, EasyLobby. Visitors
must present photo identification at the
Mezzanine Security Desk. The security
staff will take the visitor’s photo, print a
guest badge, and contact the employee to
announce that his/her guest has arrived.
Visitors must wear the guest badge at all
times in secured areas of 540 West
Madison.

Bicycle Parking/Storage
Public Transportation
Commuting by bike to work is a great way to
cut down on auto emissions and reduce your
carbon footprint along with increasing daily
physical activity. To support these initiatives at
540 West Madison we provide secured bicycle
parking in our loading dock. To request bicycle
parking access, simply fill out the Bike Parking
Waiver Form.
Commuting to 540 West Madison is very
convenient. For downtown commuters, the
CTA green line stops right around the corner
at Clinton & Lake. For suburban commuters,
Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation
Center are just steps away. Please visit

At 540 West Madison, we are committed to
protecting and preserving our environment.
There are several things that you can do to
continue the initiative in your daily life here at
the building and at home. For more information

Tenants are encouraged to participate in the
extensive building recycling program. Grey
recycle bins are available at every tenant
desk. Recyclable items include office paper,
newspaper and magazines, phone books,
Plastic bottles and containers #1-7,
Aluminum/Tin/Steel Cans, Glass bottles and
Jars, and paper cardboard. In addition, 540
West Madison participates in battery
recycling with battery recycling tubes
available on each floor.
