studies and Ph.D programme in youth development
(interdisciplinary). The School also will offer Diploma


Inclusion
Youth in the age group of 15-29 years comprise 27.5% of the
population. At present, about 34% of India’s Gross National
Income (GNI) is contributed by this youth. However, there
exists a huge potential to increase the contribution of this
class of the nation’s citizenry by increasing their labour
force participation and their productivity. The Government of
India (GoI) currently invests more than Rs 90,000 Crores
per annum on youth development programmes. In addition,
the State Governments and a number of other stakeholders
are also working to support youth development and to
enable productive youth participation. However, individual
organizations in non-Government sector are small and
fragmented, and there is little coordination between the
various stakeholders working on youth issues. All the
stakeholders should come together and make sure that the
youth of this country should be in a position to achieve their
full potential.

Social Justice
Hence, Educators, Researchers, Practitioners and the
students intending to participate in the Seminar are expected
to give a profound thought over these matters and come
out with invaluable propositions in the direction of youth in
India in terms of empowerment, employability, governance,
participation, inclusion, social justice, entrepreneurship
etc. Focus of the seminar will be on dissemination and
discussion about the priority areas as given in the National
Youth Policy-2014.
