“He did this so that all the peoples of the earth
might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful
and so that you might always fear the LORD your
God.”
Joshua 4:24
Welcome to GBC! If you are visiting today, then
we give you a very warm welcome. We have light
refreshments available after the service if you care
to join us.
If you have a hearing aid please switch it to “T”, if
you can’t get it to work then please visit the sound
desk for more help.
We would love to pray for you or those you know
who require prayer. There are slips on the
information table at the back of the church - please
fill one in and place it in the prayer box. They are
collected weekly. Prayer is also available after the
service and if you would like to receive prayer then
please come to the music side at the front where
one of the prayer team will meet you.

FELLOWSHIP NEWS AND PRAYER
PRAYER REQUESTS: Any prayer requests that are urgent please contact a member of the prayer chain
who are Mary Wilson, Wilma Wardle, Mark Campbell, Betty Lawson, Judy Sinclair, Anne Windram, Ana
Macedo-Brown and Arthur Hembling.
THE SLAVIC GOSPEL ASSOCIATION will be sharing in our service on March 22nd and bringing us up to
date of their work in Eastern Europe in lands such as Romania, Poland etc. Please put the word around
and book this date in your diary - The SGA have held their conference in GBC for some years but due to
falling numbers we felt it best to invite them on a Sunday Morning when everyone can be together - this
should be an inspiring and uplifting time so don't miss it. A.
KESHER COURSE – Rediscover connections between Judaism and Christianity, Israel and Church. The
Kesher course is a ten session course that looks at the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and the place of
Israel in God’s purposes today. Course starts on 5th February, 7pm at Thursday Church, WafflyGood,
Market Street, Galashiels. There is one-off cost of £3 for the course booklet. Free coffee and snacks
provided.
NEW LEADERS - The members meeting on Tuesday 27th January has resulted in four new Leaders
being appointed. They are Iain Clark, Valerie Gelder, Derek Howie and Ian Stephen. Please pray for
them as they settle into their new role and for the whole team as they seek to take the Church forward,
especially in light of the upcoming vacancy, when Arthur retires. Joyce
There are 2 small tables outside the back door of the Church which are free to take away. They will be
disposed of if no one wants them. Joyce
THE 2015 HOLIDAY CLUB will take place from Monday 6th till Friday 10th July, with this year’s theme
being “Polar Explorers”. If you are able to help during the week, please let Tim or Ali know as soon as
possible (indicating daytime / evening or both). We have applied to have a step out team again this year
but we won't know till late May if that will be possible. In preparation for the club we require a large
number of 4pt milk cartons (washed and without tops). We will also require Christmas type decorations:
Icicle lights, fake trees, penguins etc. for set dressing and also suitable props – ski clothing, goggles, skis,
boots etc. Again if you can help, let Tim & Ali know.
BLYTHSWOOD VAN – The Blythswood van will be in the area on Monday 2nd February. Please note the
new times.
