THIS WEEK IN UTAH GYMNASTICS
The No. 4 Utah gymnastics team (6-0, 2-0 Pac-12) hosts Arizona
State (1-6, 0-2 Pac-12) on Friday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Huntsman
Center. Pre-meet introductions begin at 5:45 p.m. The meet will be
televised live on the Pac-12 Networks. Jim Watson will call the action with color analyst Amanda Borden.
QUICK STICKS
The Utes will recognize the 40th year in program history this
weekend and 70 former Utah gymnasts will attend Friday’s meet
and a banquet on Saturday … The first 2,500 fans in attendance will
receive a remake of the 1994 Utah gymnastics poster … Georgia
Dabritz is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the all-around for the third
straight week with a 39.625 season average … Utah’s 197.850 last
week at Arizona is tied for the highest score in the nation this year
with No. 1 Oklahoma … Last year against ASU, Greg Marsden
became the first 1,000-win coach in college gymnastics history
when the Utes defeated the Sun Devils in Tempe on Feb. 1, 2014 ...
Utah averaged 14,564 fans to its first two home meets … Utah has
three Pac-12 weekly winners so far this season: Pac-12 Gymnasts
of the Week Tory Wilson (Jan. 12) and Georgia Dabritz (Jan. 19),
and Pac-12 Specialist of the Week Corrie Lothrop (Jan. 26). This
week’s Pac-12 award winners will be announced later today.
IN THE RANKINGS
Utah moved up a place to No. 4 in the national rankings after scoring a season-high 197.850 in a win at Arizona last week. Georgia
Dabritz is No. 1 in the nation in the all-around and is also ranked in
the top 10 on floor (No. 2), bars (No. 3) and vault (No. 3T). Utah’s
best event ranking is No. 4 on bars (49.275 average) and beam

Georgia Dabritz (39.70), Tory Wilson
(39.50) and Baely Rowe (39.35) all had
season all-around highs in last week’s win
at Arizona … Ute winners this season:
Dabritz (11), Wilson (3), Kari Lee (1),
Corrie Lothrop (1), Rowe (1) … The
Utes are 93-96 in hit routines (routines
without a fall). Utah has not counted a fall
in its first four meets and went 24-for-24
last week at Arizona. Gymnasts who have
hit every routine are Wilson (16-16),
Dabritz (15-15), Lee (10-10), Breanna
Hughes (8-8), Kailah Delaney (5-5), Tiffani Lewis (5-5), Kassandra Lopez (4-4)
and Maddy Stover (4-4).
UTE INSIDER
Samantha Partyka is pushing for a
spot in the vault lineup after scoring a
9.875 in exhibition at Arizona … Senior
All-American Becky Tutka hopes to
return to the floor lineup this week. She
missed the first two meets with an injury
and has competed just once this season
(vs. UCLA) … With her victory on beam
last week at Arizona, Kari Lee became
the first Ute freshman to win an event
since 2012 when Dabritz had 12 wins
and Kailah Delaney earned five wins as
freshmen.

Utah is 68-16-1 all-time against Arizona
State and 33-2 in Salt Lake City. Utah
has won 17 straight since losing to the

Co-head coaches Greg Marsden and
Megan Marsden shared the 2014 Pac-12
Coach of the Year award. Greg is in his
40th year overall as the head coach and
Megan is in sixth year as co-head coach
and her 31st year overall on the staff.
Greg is the winningest coach in NCAA
gymnastics history (1,024-205-7) and
his 10 national championships is tied for
the most in the country. He has taken
his teams to the national championships
every year since his first season back in
1976. He has a regular season record of
480-81-3. Megan has a 108-44-1 career
record (52-14-1 regular season).
NATION’S ATTENDANCE LEADER
Utah is averaging 14,564 fans to its first
two meets with a season-high 14,873
in attendance for a Jan. 23 win over
UCLA. Utah owns every NCAA gymnastics attendance record, including the
most people ever to watch a collegiate
gymnastics meet (15,558 vs. Florida in
2011) and highest season attendance
average (14,376 in 2014). The Utes
