PASTOR’S MESSAGE
Advent and Christmas have kept us all very busy. As always, it has been a privilege and joy
for me to share it with the people of Friedens.
The Christmas readings provoke in me the familiar images ….of people walking in darkness,
seeing a great light…of God coming to us as a baby in a lowly manger…of Isaiah’s prophesy proclaimed in the magnificent title’s of Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting

cultural demands of the holiday.
That is why I think it’s important look back on what we have seen and heard throughout
Christmastide….and as we embark on another year marked by the secular calendar….try to
incorporate a “new song” into our everyday lives. It is the one place where I think that the
secular calendar and church calendar fit together very nicely. From Christmas to New
