Please sign up in the office, so that we do not have doubles of the same cookies/treats. All baked goods should be delivered to Mrs. Damery by Tuesday afternoon. Store bought items will not count for event credit. Congratulations to the following January 7th Grade Students of the Month: Lizzy Streb in Language Arts, Madi Eyman in Science, Andrew Womack in Geography, Ellie Pensabene in Math, and Brock Harrison in English. These students were chosen based on their academic effort, behavior, and citizenship. They should report to Mrs. Cox's room today at 3:00. Purchase Your Yearbook in February: Each student has been given a manila envelope. This envelope needs to be completed, money enclosed, and returned to your first hour teacher by Friday, February 27 if you wish to purchase a yearbook. The cost of the yearbook is $20.00. If you miss this opportunity, you can purchase a yearbook on the last day of school for a slightly higher price. Please Note: We did not offer the option to purchase one with registration. This is the first opportunity to purchase a yearbook. Happy Ads for Upcoming Sangamon County School Events: The Sangamon County Jr. Schoolmasters will be sponsoring three events during the month of February, which includes: County Jr. High Volleyball Tournament; SEMA Solo and Ensemble Contest; and the County Spelling Bee. Family and friends have the opportunity to place a Happy Ad in each event program to wish participants the best. Happy Ads may be placed in the event program for as little as $1. WCUSD BUS RIDER POLICY Just to remind everyone of the school district policy about riding another bus besides your own. At the junior high level, the district allows students to ride only one bus. In emergency situations where a parent needs a student to ride another bus, a note must be brought to school from the parent stating the reason why a student should ride an alternate bus. A student riding with others on alternate buses for social reasons is not allowed. Fine Arts News Mrs. Cole's wrap-up schedule for this week: Friday: National Anthem Practice Auditioning?: Students interested in auditioning for next year's Musical Theater Class need to sign up on Mrs. Cole's door today. If you have not yet received an audition pack and CD, let Mrs. Cole know as soon as possible. Auditions will be next Wednesday. You will be assigned an audition time by early next week. Into the Woods Clinic: There will be an "Into the Woods" audition clinic on Sunday, Feb. 8th from 2-4 PM. This will be opportunity for you to practice with your partner, practice songs, and get all your questions answered. This is not a required clinic to audition, but it is highly advised that students wishing to audition attend. Art Club: No Art Club this week. Sports News Volleyball: The 6th grade girls split sets with Riverton last night losing 27-25 and winning 25-22. The 6th grade girls will play again next Tuesday against North Mac. The 7th and 8th lost to Riverton last night. The 8th grade team plays in the Athens Tournament tomorrow in Cantrall. First game starts at 8:30. Bus time is 7:40.
