26 Glacier Cruise on Prince
William Sound
Special Feature – 26 Glacier Cruise
Cruise through the calm, protected waters of Prince William Sound aboard Alaska’s
largest, fastest and most luxurious catamaran, the Klondike Express. The 137-foot vessel holds 342 passengers on three decks, two of which are enclosed and heated. Large
picture windows provide incredible viewing experiences regardless of the weather.
Departing from the port of Whittier, we travel over 135 miles, cruising to the face of
Harvard Glacier at the end of College Fjord, and then to Barry Arm and Harriman
Fjord. No other cruise takes passengers so close to these towering masses of ice.
Inching up to within 1,000 feet of the icy giants, we’ll actually
hear the glaciers move while gazing at the glittering blue ice
fields. Home to a large concentration of marine and wildlife,
photo opportunities are endless as playful sea otters flip and
dive while bald eagles soar overhead. Professional narration
is provided by US Forest Service Rangers on every cruise.
