EHMA 2016
Cyprus 2016 is next: another most important venue and we encourage all of you to diarize the threeday event from Thursday to Sunday, 17th – 20th March 2016! The Organizing Committee is already at
work to finalize an enticing and surprising programme!
The Four Seasons and the Amathus Beach in Limassol are
looking forward to welcoming many of you to the magic
island of Cyprus in 2016!
EHMA 2017
Candidatures for EHMA 2017 will be presented in Geneva during the General Assembly and we look
forward to your proposal(s)!
The Management Council
Your Management Council has met in London mid-November. The
meeting was kindly hosted by our friend and colleague Michael Gray
at the Park Hyatt Regency The Churchill. Points discussed included
several important issues such as: Geneva 2015, supporting partners,
Cyprus 2016, future General Meetings, memberships, finances,
statute, hotel schools and relations with other associations, the
image of EHMA. Furthermore, the Hotel Manager of the Year 2014
was selected. The award will be presented to the winner in Geneva
during the Gala Dinner.
Organization/Future of the Association
EHMA Statute: the statute sub-committee composed by Kurt Dohnal, Johanna Fragano, Michael Gray
and myself met in London on the occasion of the Board meeting to review, adapt and simplify the
statute in order to bring it up to date with today’s environment. The list of amendments proposed and
approved by the Management Council and by EHMA legal advisor Alessandro Cianella will be sent to all
members two months prior to the Annual General Meeting and finally be presented for voting at the
General Assembly in Geneva.
Supporting Partners
Together with our first Vice-President Kurt Dohnal and the EHMA Secretariat we are working hard to
get on board old and new companies willing to contribute to the success of our annual event, which is a
real challenge in times like these. We would like to request all of you to actively assist us in this very
difficult task. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
EHMA Sustainability award by Diversey Care 2015
Diversey Care will present the fourth edition of the EHMA Sustainability award
in Geneva. EHMA is very proud to be in partnership with Diversey Care to
continue this prestigious award of an outstanding approach to sustainability.
Related criteria and the application form will be forwarded shortly to all EHMA
General Managers and the winner will be awarded in Geneva during the Gala
Dinner.

Membership/Change of address
Nine new members were admitted during the meeting
of the Management Council in London. Still, there is
concern about slow growth and activity in some
delegations. We ask all of you to acquire new quality
members to join in order to ensure the continuity and
future growth of EHMA!
Enclosed are the most recent changes in the EHMA
Membership List. On this same document names of
the nine members recently admitted are included.
Kindly review and verify details on the membership list online and advise the Secretariat if any of
your personal data needs to be updated.
Hotel Schools
EHMA collaborates in different ways with prestigious institutions such as the Ecole Hotelière de
Lausanne, the Glion Institute of Higher Education, Cornell University, Stenden University. We are
particularly proud to actively support EHL and Glion with the EHMA Dario dell’Antonia and EHMA
Nadio Benedetti awards, annually granted to particularly deserving students. These prizes comprize an
invitation to the EHMA Annual General Meeting of the following year, i.e. exclusive access to the
program of the conference (two-night accommodation, social and educational events) as well as
behind closed doors discussions about trends, challenges and opportunities with top European Hotel
Managers.

I am very excited to inform you that a modern and updated EHMA website will be online in 2015 to
emulate the elegant experience that an individual might have when visiting or staying in an EHMA
member’s hotel as well as to offer members and sponsors more online value.
Also, it is with much pleasure that I confirm that International New York Times will continue to
support us by printing our EHMA Membership List 2015, which will be distributed on the occasion of our
event in Geneva.
Hotel Management International:
10 pages dedicated to EHMA are foreseen in each
publication (4 times a year), and therefore any article on
interesting issues that members would like to write and see
included are most welcome.
