SALES MANAGER
CAMPUS TOWER SUITE HOTEL, EDMONTON, ALBERTA

service and sell products and / or services that maximize revenues as identified in Campus Tower Suite
Hotel’s Strategic Plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Execution – Putting in place the systems, structures, and disciplined
practices required to manage results. This includes planning and prioritizing, providing clear direction,
ensuring accountability, and monitoring the achievement of financial, quality, safety, and other key
business measures.
 This role provides sales and marketing expertise to drive revenue.
Responsibilities and Duties specific to this area:
 Performs specialized duties in relation to Sales, such as: acting as a key point of contact with
the client; qualifying the business and liaising with the external customer and internal contact to
deliver the service; promoting Campus Tower Suite Hotel’s products and services; assisting
with the organization and execution of sales campaigns and participating in tradeshows or
other promotions related to Sales and identifying opportunities for increasing revenues and
market share for the assigned markets.
 Achieves timely and accurate processing of professional quote presentations, contracts, reports
and client correspondence by proficiency in administrative duties, including keeping detailed
and updated client records.
 Coordinates with internal and external contact to facilitate work outcomes; responds to basic
drafting and distributing correspondence, preparation and distribution of reports, assist in
maintaining meeting room schedules and managing incoming calls.
 Assists in ensuring meeting rooms are presentable & prepared for functions at all times.
Assists in preparation of group billings and follow up with clientele.
 Establishes and communicates clear objectives, targets, and operational quality standards for
Sales
 Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback on the degree to which operational
standards are met, i.e., yield management practices are followed by both rooms and catering to
maximize revenues and meet approved sales targets
 Participates in site inspections, client appointments, client events as needed to broaden market
share.
 Researches and qualifies prospective initiatives that increase sales revenue and hotel
promotional opportunities.
 Orders supplies and maintains inventory as it relates to purposes of sales and marketing.
 Operates within boundaries of authority and adheres to company policies and practices
 Maintains health and safety standards and complies with all regulations
 Responsible for the security of the property, the Ambassadors and guests when completing
tasks
People & Culture Leadership – Connecting with and engaging Ambassadors in their work, and
ensuring that Ambassadors feel recognized and valued.
Responsibilities and Duties specific to this area:
 Follows up on internal / external inquiries related to the sales function within the functional area
 Is visible and accessible, providing open access for Leaders and Ambassadors to build rapport,
discuss issues and resolve concerns
 Fosters an environment that is motivating and engaging
 Provides training and development of Ambassadors as needed
Guest & Community Leadership – Ensuring service excellence by placing guests and their needs as
top priority, and providing experiences in line with the brand. Maintaining a positive reputation and
making a contribution to the community.
Responsibilities and Duties specific to this area:
 Demonstrates a superior customer service attitude with internal / external contacts, which
includes listening to and understanding the needs of guests; anticipating and addressing
concerns and requirements; looking for opportunities to exceed expectations; and escalating
issues as necessary
 Resolves issues and identifies when to escalate them
 Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:














2 - 4 years of related Sales experience with at least 1 year in a hotel sales role
Completion of post-secondary education, Hospitality Hotel Management Diploma an asset
Demonstrated knowledge of the local area and target customer market segments
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
Professional appearance and attitude
Excellent communication (written, verbal English and listening), interpersonal, and customer
service skills
Excellent phone manner, presentation, negotiation and leadership skills
Proven ability to sell and meet set sales / performance targets
Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills to support the building of strong relationships with diverse groups of
people
Competent in conflict resolution
Experience dealing with fast-paced customer service-oriented environments
Aware of and understands how own area of the business performs, contributes financially and
can demonstrate strong product / service knowledge
Personal alignment with Campus Tower & Coast Hotel’s values and corporate culture required
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist
candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
