Guarantee Four Attractive and Informative Trade Show Days
When ISPO MUNICH opens its doors from February 5 to 8, 2015 the focus is
not just on product innovations and material trends. The attractive side
event program with high-class lectures, panel discussions and events offers
sports business professionals plenty of opportunities to broaden their
expertise and maintain their personal network.
The third ISPO ACADEMY will be held at ISPO MUNICH 2015 at the Conference
Arena in the East Entrance EO.04. A special highlight is the panel discussion on
the future of sports retail on Friday beginning at 13:00. Andrew Denton (Outdoor
Industries Association), Rolf Schmid (Mammut) and Frederic Hufkens (A.S.
Adventure) will discuss the topic of “Verticalization in the Sports Business –
Opportunities and Threats for Retail and Brands”. On Thursday, Friday and
Saturday all events begin at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. The Retail Tours through
Munich offer interested participants a glimpse of the latest trends in store design
(Thursday: 9:00 to 17:30, 9:00 to 13:00, 13:30 to 17:30; Friday: 9:00 to 17:30,
10:00 to 14:00, and 13:15 to 17:15).
The center aisle of the HEALTH & FITNESS Hall C1 features an in-depth focus on
the promising subject of “Mobile Health & Fitness” with a plethora of workshops
and product presentations. On ISPO opening day, on Thursday beginning at
11:00, Brazilian actress and moderator Fernanda Brandao, long distance runner
Ingelena Hauch, yoga instructor Patrick Broome and star chef Holger Stromberg
discuss the topic “Healthy with Sports and Nutrition”. Soccer world champion
Philipp Lahm and the Sixtus Company meet the press at noon. Beginning at 15:00

Tokarksi (Sports University Cologne) and Philipp Karl (MTU Aero Engines) discuss
the question: “Can health at work be fun?”.
Patrick Broome, yoga instructor for the German National Soccer Team, holds a
workshop “Yoga For Everyone” at 11:00 on Sunday. Two hours later, at 13:00, the
topic is “Social Health – ein Beziehungskapital als Wirtschaftsfaktor: Welche Rolle
spielt der Sport im Unternehmen?”. Panel participants include Peter Driessen (IHK
München), Florian Holsboer (HolsboerMaschmeyer NeuroChemie), Markus Gömer
(BASF) and Klaus Dittrich (Messe München). On Saturday, at 11:00, Uwe
Lüdeking (Deutscher Städtebund) provides details on what an activity-friendly city
could look like, and Holger Stromberg discusses healthy nutrition at 14:00.
The one-day Running Shoe Symposium on Thursday, beginning at 10:30 at the
International Congress Center München (ICM) offers new inspiration to all
members of the running footwear industry. In cooperation with RUNNER´S
WORLD the symposium features a variety of presentations, workshops and
discussions. Experts analyze the latest running shoe trends, take a closer look at
the market and its demands, and present the latest research results on the topic of
running shoes (“What is the role of running shoes in injuries” or “Is this the end of
excessive pronation?”).
Padel has already established itself as a racket sport in many sports clubs, and is
continuing to conquer Europe. If you are interested in Padel, don’t miss the live
appearances of professional players at Padel Tennis Village (hall B4.225). There is
also a daily Padel Tennis Summit, during which experts explain the business
opportunities presented by Padel (B4.121).
A special exhibition area in hall B4 (Performance) is dedicated to Water Sports,
offering a presentation platform for water sports brands in cooperation with the
Federation of the German Sporting Goods Industry (Bundesverband der
Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie - BSI). From 15:00 to 17:00 every day, and
additionally at 14:00 on Friday, the exhibition features interviews on water sports
topics. Among the participants are Ironman champion Faris Al-Sultan (Thursday,
15:00), the most successful Olympic and world class swimmer to date Michael

Fred Phelps (Friday, 14:00), wild water canoeist Jasmin Schornberg (Friday, 15:00)
and former national swim team member Christoph Wandratsch (Friday, 16:00).
ISPO Cold Water Surfing is the first European special exhibition revolving around
hi-tech surfing equipment in hall A2 (A2.107). In addition to product presentations
by Patagonia, Billabong, Finisterre, Fomento Donostia, Glassy Pro, Holy Sport, Rip
Curl, Surf Logic, Ocean, O’Neill and XCEL there is also an informative side event
program with lectures, workshops and panel discussions. It includes discussions
like “Safety Aspects in Big Wave Surfing” by top suffers like Benjamin Sanchis and
Gabe Davis at 16:00 on Friday.
Yet another special exhibition, Tailgate MUNICH in hall A1 (A1.309), focuses on
backcountry snowboarding with product presentations and workshops.
Presentations include everything you need for an unforgettable line in powder
snow.
The ISPO Freeski Summit in hall A3 (A3.112) puts the spotlight on freeskiing.
Companies like Colmar, Meier Skis or Wildzeit Sportswear present their products.
Lectures and discussions provide insider knowledge and offer a forecast of
tomorrow’s trends.
The exhibition #ONEHUNDRED @ ISPO 2015 (hall A2.424 and A2.525) by
Sneaker Freaker Magazine tells sneaker stories from around the world and
presents 100 models chronicling everything from the birth of sneakers until today.
It is said that “sneakers” were mentioned for the first time in 1875. The original
shoe was made with a “canvas upper and a rubber sole”.
Loud, colorful and unconventional – urban art and actions sports are meant to be
together. Two special exhibitions delve deeper into this statement: ISPO
TanDemSpace with street artists like Jose Walker, Ray Moore and Miguel
Panadero in hall A1 (A1.519) and the Intoxicated Demons Gallery presents
Monokrom City (A2.426; A2.443), a small city with everything needed to create a
sort of synthesis between architecture, art, commerce and design.

The best European skaters compete for the top spots and show off their best tricks
on the mini ramp during the Volcom Mini Ramp Contest in hall A2. The best
scooter riders will prove their mettle on the Scooter Shred Ramp powered by
Razor in hall A3. Three daily shows and a Best Trick Contest are on the program.
Additional highlights for board sports fans include the Longboard Embassy, a
special exhibition on skateboard longboarding in hall A2, and the SUP Area in hall
A3. This show is organized in cooperation with PADDLEexpo. Visitors will find
everything they need for this booming, relaxed wave-riding sport in this area.
