At Reasi, the Republic Day was celebrated with gaiety, and national spirit at District, Sub-division, tehsil and block levels. The main function was held at Mini Sports Stadium Reasi, where Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Shabir Ahmad Bhatt hoisted the Tricolour and took salute at the parade comprising of 31 contingents drawn from CRPF, District Police, IRP, Police Training Centre Talwara, NCC and students from various government and private schools. At Katra, the Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and patriotism. The main function was held at the upcoming Multi-purpose Sports Stadium, being established by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, where Dr. Mandeep. K. Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, hoisted the Tricolour and took salute at an impressive marchpast by the contingents drawn from CRPF, J&K Police, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides, besides the students of various educational institutions. At Kishtwar, the main function was organized in historic Chowgan ground where Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Javed Khan unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past contingents of JKP, CRPF, IRP, CISF, FPF, NCC students of Degree College, Boys HSS and other schools. At Samba, Deputy Commissioner Samba Mubarak Singh unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past contingents of army, ExServicemen, JKP, and students of various schools. Singh extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion and recalled the sacrifices of the great leaders and freedom fighters. The Republic Day function was also organised in sub divisions of Samba and Vijaypur where the respective SDMs hoisted the National Flag, whereas similar functions were held in tehsil headquarters of the District with great enthusiasm in which tehsildars hoisted the Tricolour. At R.S Pura, SDM R.K Sharma unfurled the National Flag and took salute at march-past. Colourful cultural programmes based on patriotic themes were also presented by various educational institutions. At Khour, SDM Rakesh Kumar unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past drawn from various contingents. A colourful cultural programme was also organized on the occasion in which school children and local artists participated. At Ramban, 66th Republic day was celebrated at the District Police Lines ground Ramban where Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Doda, On the occasion of 66th Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Doda Shyam Vinod Meena unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past contingents of JKP, CRPF, IRP, FPF, JKHG, NCC and students of government and private educational institutions. At Kathua, 66th Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal, fervor and gaiety at Sports Stadium Kathua. District Development Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the parade. The contingents comprised of Police, CRPF, PTS Kathua, Forest Protection Force, NCC and students of government and private educational institutions. At Basohli, SDM Gurmukh Singh hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Bani, SDM M.A Banday hoisted the National Tricolour at Government Girls High School, Bani. At Hiranagar, SDM Sohan Lal unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Billawar, SDM, Rajehshwar Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the parade. Colorful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion. At Udhampur, the Republic Day function was held in the premises of Government PG Degree College for Boys, where the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal hoisted the National Flag, inspected parade and took salute at an impressive march past presented by 41 contingents drawn from CRPF, Police, Forest Protection Force, NCC Boys and Girls and government and private educational institutions. At Chenani, Sub Divisional Magistrate Chenani, Davinder Kumar Sharma unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the march past. At Basantgarh, Republic Day function was organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Basantgarh where Sub Divisional Magistrate, Basantgarh, Deep Raj unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Majalta, the R-Day function was celebrated in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Majalta where Tehsildar, Majalta hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Ramnagar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Ramnagar, Dhirendra Sharma hoisted the Tricolour At Dudu, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu, Amit Vermani unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Latti, Tehsildar, Latti hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Dansal, Tehsildar, Dansal hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Poonch, Deputy Commissioner, M.H Malik hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 66th Republic Day celebrations at Sports Stadium Poonch and took salute at an impressive march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, NCC, Band of 93-Infantry Brigade, QRT Commando and students of various educational institutions. At Mendhar and Surankote Sub divisions, SDM Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar and SDM Surankote, Mohd Afzal Mirza hoisted the National Flag whereas Tehsidar Mandi, Amir Ayaz Rather unfurled the National Flag at Tehsil headquarter Mandi. At Rajouri, the 66th Republic Day was celebrated in Rajouri with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor, The main function was held at District Police line, Rajouri, where District Development Commissioner, Jitendra Kumar Singh hoisted the Tricolour and took salute at the march past contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, NCC Cadets and students of various government and private schools. Meanwhile, in connection with celebration of 66th Republic Day a function was organized at Govt Polytechnic for Women Jammu where Principal of the College hoisted the National flag. Students and staff members participated in the function and presented colourful cultural programmes. State unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) celebrated the Republic Day at a function where Shiv Kumar Sharma, INTUC State President unfurled the National Flag. Republic Day was also celebrated at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal by the hoisting of National Flag by Dinesh Sharma, Superintendent Jail, who spoke on the importance of the Day. National Mazdoor Conference in collaboration with traders of Pacca Danga and shopkeepers of Rani Park and Youth Committee celebrated the Republic Day as Sankalap Diwas. In this connection two separate functions were held at Rani Park and Pacca Danga in which NMC leader, Subash Shastri hoisted the National Flag. The 66th Republic Day was celebrated by the staff and students of Alexander Memorial School in the school campus with usual enthusiasm and gaiety. The programme began with unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, Esther William and signing of the National Anthem by all those present on the occasion. Trikuta Nagar welfare Society in collaboration with State Bank of Hyderabad celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The flag was hoisted by Vikram Gour, Society President in presence of large number of residents of Trikuta Nagar and children with their parents who participated in the painting competition. Four children were awarded with prizes for their paintings on 'Swachhata Abhiyaan'. Vikram Gour welcomed the participants and exhorted the children to take pride in participating and celebrating National functions and in working for the people and community. Subhash Dubey, Manager State Bank of Hyderabad also spoke n the occasion. State BJP organized a programme on the occasion of Republic day at party headquarters where party State President and MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, alongwith senior leaders hoisted the national flag. It was followed by National Anthem and distribution of sweet amid extending greetings of the day. Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated Republic Day in the Campus at Rajouri. A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Vice Chancellor's lawn wherein Registrar Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Mohammad Rashid Choudhary unfurled National Flag. Guard of honour was given by JKAP contingent. The Republic Day was also celebrated by a team of Sainik Colony BJP Unit. Farooq Khan (retired IGP) and senior BJP leader hosted the National Flag at Shaheed Major Ajay Singh Park. The Republic Day was also celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan with great zeal and enthusiasm. Chief Guests on the occasion were Ranjeet Singh, Sud-Divisional Magistrate Bhawan and Sandeep Sharma, Tehsildar Bhawan. After Flag Hoisting ceremony a parade was organized by CRPF and JKP. This was followed by colourful cultural events where participants from different wings of the Bhawan displayed their talent. Republic Day was celebrated with much fanfare and great enthusiasm in Tawi Vihar Colony Sidhra. The National flag was unfurled by Lt. Gen. L.P Sadhotra who was the chief guest on the occasion. He also presented awards to various employees from Electrical Department, Water Distribution Wing and Safai Karamcharis for their outstanding dedication to their work in the colony. KASHMIR The 66th Republic Day was celebrated across the Kashmir Valley with great enthusiasm, gaiety and fervour today. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal was the chief guest at Republic Day function in summer capital at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar who unfurled the tricolour and inspected guard of honour. Later, he took salute of the march past, in which contingents of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, J&K Armed Police, IRP, Women's Police Force, District Police, NCC, Fire & Emergency Services, students of various educational institutions participated. On the occasion, artists of Information Department, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports and students of various schools presented a scintillating cultural bonanza. Addressing the function, the Div Com said that Republic Day is the most significant day in the history of the country as this is the day when people of India gave continuation to themselves. At Baramulla, Republic Day was celebrated at District headquarters, Baramulla where the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone was the chief guest who unfurled National flag and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. At Uri, SDM Uri, Sheikh Abdul Aziz hoisted the National flag and took salute at the March-Past presented by contingents of Security Forces, Fire & Emergency Services and school children. Moreover, cultural programmes were also presented by groups of students of various schools. The Republic Day was also celebrated at Tangmarg where Tehsildar concerned hoisted the National Flag. At Anantnag, 66th Republic Day was today celebrated with full fervor and gaiety at Govt. Degree College for Boys Anantnag. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Tasaduq Jeelani hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. At Pahalgam, the tricolour was unfurled by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mr. Mohammad Aslam who took salute at the march past on the occasion. At Kulgam, Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety in Kulgam district at Degree College where senior officers of Police and Civil administration were present on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner, Nissar Hussain Wani unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. Similar functions were also held at all Tehsil headquarters of the district where concerned officers unfurled the National flag and took salute on the march past. At Budgam, The Republic Day was also celebrated at Sports Stadium Budgam where the Deputy Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad Lone unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. Republic Day was also celebrated at all Sub Divisions and Tehsil head- CMYK quarters in the district. At Pulwama, The 66th Republic Day was celebrated across the district and the main function was held at District Police Lines where the Deputy Commissioner, Sajad Ahmad Khan unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. At Shopian, The Republic Day was celebrated at the district head- quarters with Deputy Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Bhat unfurling the National flag at Fruit Mandi and took salute at the march past by contingents of District Police, CRPF, IRP, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guard, NCC and students of various schools of the district. At Bandipora, The Republic Day was celebrated at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora where the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shah Faisal was the chief guest who hoisted the National flag and took salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the massive developments in the fields of agriculture, education, horticulture, health and improving the socio-eco- nomic conditions of the people shall be ensured in the district. He reminded the people about the glorious traditions of amity, peaceful co-existence, mutual brotherhood and tolerance. Similar function was held at Gurez where Sub Divisional Magistrate Gurez, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past. At Kupwara, The main function was held at District Police Lines Kupwara where Deputy Commissioner, Itrat Hussain Rafique unfurled the National flag and took salute. Contingents of CRPF, IRP, JKAP, JKP, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. At Ganderbal, The Deputy Commissioner, Sarmad Hafeez unfurled the National flag at Ganderbal and took salute at the march past. The contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force and School children participated in the march past. At Kargil, The Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaie hoisted the National Flag at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang and took salute at an impressive march past comprising contingents of J&K Police, NCC, Army, Civil Band Party and students of Government and private schools. Thousands of people from the adjoining villages of Kargil had gathered at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Biamathang to watch the parade. At Leh, The main function was held at Polo Ground Leh where the Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh, Rigzin Spalbar unfurled the tricolour and took salute at the march past in which contingents of J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Para-military, NCC and school children participated.
