January 30, 2015
Dear Student:
This letter serves as confirmation of your registration for the “OWU Winter Visit Day” on Monday, February 16,
2015. We look forward to providing you with the opportunity to sample campus life and be an OWU student for a day.
Enclosed please find a campus map, a list of local area accommodations, a tentative program schedule and a
parking pass. Please note – an “Early Bird” campus tour will be offered on Sunday, February 15 at 4:30 p.m. for those
interested. Taking the “Early Bird” tour on Sunday may help free up some of your schedule on Monday (depending on
what you‟d like to do). The “Early Bird” tour is open to any registered student/family (not just those admitted
students spending the night).
For those ADMITTED students who are spending the night on campus on Sunday, February 15– please find
enclosed a required release form. Please fax your completed release form to 740-368-3314 or scan and email it
to [email protected] before the date of your visit. If you cannot fax or scan/email the form, please make sure to
bring it to check-in in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center (bldg. # 1) between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February
15. We ask that you also bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel and toiletries for your stay. Additionally, while
some hosts have a spare futon/couch/bed, this is not always the case. Feel free to also bring an air mattress or
other floor pad if you like.
For those students not spending the evening on campus and not doing the “Early Bird” campus tour, check-in will be
held in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center (bldg. # 1) between 8:30 – 9:10 a.m. on Monday, February 16.
Refreshments (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) will be provided. The program will officially begin at 9:15 a.m. with a
welcome session, featuring our President. You do NOT need to complete the release form. Parking is available behind
the Campus Center (bldg. #1), between Beeghly Library (bldg. #6) and the Corns Building (bldg. #5) and beside
Edwards Gymnasium (bldg. #19). Simply hang the enclosed parking pass from your rear view mirror.
If you are traveling alone and have requested transportation to and from the Port Columbus International Airport
(CMH), you should plan to meet an OWU representative at the Information Desk in the Baggage Claim area of Port
Columbus when your flight arrives. Additional information about who will be meeting you (including name and cell
phone number of the person) will be delivered to you via phone and/or e-mail as drivers become confirmed.
Please feel free to contact me at 740-368-3026 or at [email protected] if you should have any questions. If you need
to reach me while en route to OWU, please call/text me on my cell phone at 740-972-3533. We look forward to seeing
you on campus for our “OWU Winter Visit Day” Program.
Cordially yours,
