Princeton Elks Lodge 1459
Happy Valentines Day!
EXALTED RULERS MESSAGE
Well it’s that time of year again, that’s right, the Super Bowl is this Sunday. Whether you like the Patriots and their deflated balls or the Seahawks or
neither, come out anyhow and enjoy the fun with your fellow Elk at the ol 1459.
Everyone is invited, and if you want, bring a covered dish or desert.
It is also that time of year for election of the board members and 1 trustee. If you ever wanted to be a member of the board or an officer, now’s your
chance. When I became ER, my buddy Pat Griffin PER gave me some advice. He
said; your first year is your toughest (we got a new greens keeper & new manager)
he said the second year is your most enjoyable (except for the visit to the CCU for 2
days) the trip to New Orleans was great, and he said if you do it for a third year,
your just plain stupid. I’ve enjoyed being your ER over the past 2 years and only
GOD knows what happens next. I encourage everyone to come to the next 2 meetings and express your opinions. February 5th and 19th. Nominations at the first
meeting and voting the 2nd meeting. February 26th will be our BOG meeting. All
meetings start at 7pm.
If this is my last newsletter, I have a whole lot of people to thank. Dave
Westfall is the glue of our lodge and he has been there to help me from day 1.
Dwight Robinette and Joe Stanger were with me and helped me with our mess in
the manager’s office when things were horrible. Eric Thompson took over our entertainment committee the last 2 years and made our lodge look good, not only for
our members, but to the police and numerous organizations. Our officers and our
trustees worked their butt of getting things done without fighting or with a personal agenda. I would also like to recognize our women in the bar area. (Marie,
Angie, Sarah, Tara & Brittni) You are the backbone of our lodge. I got a new appreciation for you girls. When sitting on the bar stool you don’t realize what all the
girls do, but when you’re ER, you notice them coming in on their day off to drive
someone home or having a pot luck dinner for those who do not have families during holidays or having a bake sale for someone (member or not) that needed funds.
Thank you Wanda for your hard work in Bingo that helps us give so much money
away to needy charities. Thanks to Keith for putting up with me and for his love of
the lodge.
I leave you with a bible verse, since we are a godly organization.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting
life”.
John 3:16
Sincerely, Rick Miller, PER
Happy Valentines Day!
Our first Monthly winner of the contest for those who have sent the editor their email address is
member # 2716, Johnnie “JR” Shuck. JR wins dinner for 2 in the clubroom or green fees for 2 if
he prefers. Contact the business office at 304-425-4220 to claim your prize. JR was chosen using
a random number generator, a small program that generates a number between 1 and whatever.
The generator is used to produce a member number and if that number corresponds to the name of
someone who has supplied their email address they win. If not a new number is generated and the
process continues until we have our monthly winner. Congrats to JR !!
The West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball team has a
gotten off to a fast start and a top 20 ranking….
So like football there will be game day Specials for all

want the Elks to provide in the future.

basis. This publication reaches over 1000 people in the print and email versions.
Just contact me in my office for additional information.
As Rick said in his ER Message it is important that we have members that care enough about
the lodge to step in and replace officers who have may not be able to continue. So give it
some thought if you have ever considered being a part of making this lodge successful!
Lots of things going on here at the lodge so make sure you take advantage of all we have to
offer, support your lodge and enjoy your times here at 1459!!!
