Welcome
Welcome to Hawthorne Gospel Church!
We are glad you are here to worship with
us. If you are new today, please fill out the
gold welcome card located in the back of the pew in front of you
and hand it to a Connector at the Discovery Center for some
helpful information about our community.
Please join us between services in the Pavilion for a time of
fellowship and coffee — you also will be able to obtain more
information about our upcoming events there!
Mrs. Elsie Leesman is observing

Feed My Starving Children Update
What a great time! We were able to pack over a quarter
of a million meals for hungry children around the world! Thank
you for your support and effort as over 1100 volunteers took
part. We are still short on our commitment to purchase the
bulk food for packing. Your donation to help cover this cost
would be appreciated!

Pray for
the Sick
Robert Jenkins, a faithful attendee, entered into the presence of the
Lord on January 21st. Our Christian sympathy is given to his family.
Pastor David Krentel
On January 23rd, 2015, Pastor Krentel was ushered into the presence
of his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. In the early 70s, he pastored our
College & Career Ministry. From 1975 to 1992, he served as Senior
Pastor at three churches: Westover Presbyterian Church in NC,
McKinney Memorial Bible Church in TX, and Wheaton Bible Church in
IL. Prior to returning to his roots here in New Jersey, Pastor Dave
served with non-profit organizations Melmark Home Inc., CityTeam
Ministries, and World Vision. In 2004, he joined Christian Health Care
Center Foundation as its Executive Director. Pastor David also has been
teaching classes at our Monday Evening Bible School.
Our Christian love is given to his daughter, Ms. Alison Krentel and to his
son, Jonathan.
Missionary of the Week
DENISE
ZAMBRANO
Along with her husband Jorge, the Zambranos served with
HCJB Radio in Ecuador for 35 years. When Jorge became
sick, they returned to the States. Jorge has been with the
Lord since 2009, but God continues to use Denise in wonderful ways serving at Spruce Street Baptist Church and A Baby’s
Breath in PA. The following is from her recent e-mail:
The Lord has blessed me with three beautiful grandchildren: Tim
and Becky, my daughter Linda’s children, and Alexander, my son
Daniel’s boy . . . and He has continued His blessings with loving
friends and family.
I also have been given the privilege to teach a Bible study—
“Women In Touch”—at church. We just finished our study of
Proverbs and now have decided to study the Minor Prophets. Linda
and I continue to serve at “A Baby’s Breath,” a pregnancy crisis
center, counseling mostly Spanish-speaking mothers. I was asked
to teach the teen Sunday School class and since I had been teaching the elementary student group, this new assignment has been a
challenge, but I’m loving it! I’m also praising Him for YOU. Thank
you for praying for me and my family all these years!

Guest speaker
Dan Trolaro
Many people gamble, whether playing the lottery,
betting on horses, or playing the casinos, either online or in person.
Come, learn more about this invisible addiction, ask questions,
identify the warning signs, and find where there is hope and help for
the compulsive gambler and their family members.
Dan also will share his own experience, faith, and hope
on this devastating addiction.

We Need
YOU!
A Vision for the Generations
Our leadership team has been evaluating the needs of
our church so we can continue the ministry of
Developing Fully Devoted Followers
of Jesus Christ!
In doing so, we have identified several specific needs
required to bring our facilities up to date and allow us to
continue to minister to the generations to follow.
SECURITY - Main entry and children’s area
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY - Bathrooms and elevator
CONNECTING - Foyer space
CLASSROOMS - for Sunday School and HCA
NURSERY - Location, security, convenience
FOUR ADDITIONAL RESTROOMS - Both levels
MAIN ENTRY TERRACE AREA - Code-compliant steps
In preparation for
our Annual Congregational Business Meeting
on Sunday, March 22nd, 2015,
we will have at least
TWO INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
in The Chapel
designed to answer your questions and receive your input
about the needs mentioned above.
Additional volunteers are needed in the Nursery during the 9:55
and 11:25 AM services. To help, call Wendy Littel [973-835-8780].
Friday, February 13th, at 7:30 PM
Wednesday, February 25th, at 8:15 PM
Also, substitute volunteers are needed in our first grade Sunday
School department. To help, please contact Sandy Lynn Bober at
973-427-6960, extension 166, or [email protected].
Please plan to attend one
of these meetings!
