THE 1800s
Kids Summer Camp at the Heritage Village
Museum is a time for youngsters to take a step
into the past and make history come alive!
Campers will get to do many of the things that
their great-great-great grandparents used to do.
Campers will enjoy discovering the past and
how kids lived during that time. Chores that
children did long ago now seem like fun!
Old-fashioned toys and games feel new and
become fun favorites.
Located in beautiful Sharon Woods Park, the
Heritage Village Museum provides the
perfect setting to imagine and re-live the past.
Upon receiving registration, a camp
confirmation packet will be sent with
additional information and health forms.
All campers will make lots of hand-made
goodies to take home.

Pioneer Camp

Step Back In Time!
Campers will spend 5 fun-filled and busy days learning
old-fashioned skills and the life of kids during the 19th century.
Activities include:
Cooking in the hearth kitchen
Weaving
Chores on the farm
Candle dipping
Learning about our 1800s buildings
Songs, dancing, games and more!

Civil War Camp

The
Troops!
Campers will see what life was like
as a child in Southwest Ohio during the Civil War. Entertaining
and educational opportunities abound as campers participate in
daily activities from the 1860’s. Activities include:
Civil War drills
Signal flags
Secret code breaking
Hardtack making
Paper art

Information
Campers must be six to twelve years of age (or completed
Kindergarten)
Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
Fees are: Members—$150/week
Non-members—$175/week
Siblings registered for the same week receive a $5 discount
There is a “Come Early / Stay Late” option. Campers can be
dropped off as early as 8:00 am and picked up as late as 5:30
pm, for a daily fee of $15.00
Days are planned with learning and recreational activities, as
well as free time
Campers bring a packed lunch each day and make their own
snacks during the camp day
Water is provided throughout the day
Campers are in a safe environment and have adult supervision at all times
Payment is due with registration to hold your child’s place
in camp
