February. If you’re feeling romantically challenged, when you’re not
wiling away a sunny afternoon, you and your sweetheart can choose
from multiple couples’ spa treatments. At our award-winning Calm
Waters Spa, couples are pampered with romantic rituals like our various Sweetheart Packages which feature a Couples’ Tropical Breeze
Massage and Spa pedicure.
The most important thing to do to enjoy your trip to the spa is to arrive at least 30 minutes before your treatment is scheduled to begin.
This allows you enough time to change and start to relax at facilities
like the lounge, sauna, and whirlpool areas that are all coed and
ideal for couples’ to relax together.
For special meals together, start the day with an indulgent breakfast
buffet at Ocean. Lounge at our, adults-only Tranquility Pool and

FEBRUARY FISHING REPORT

Welcome to Hawks Cay Resort, home to some of the best fishing in the world.
Before setting out on your fishing adventure, here are a few things you should
know. Winter fishing in the Keys provides an opportunity to catch species that
aren’t as common in the summer months. You’re not as likely catch as many dolphin
(mahi mahi) as you would in July or August, but this is the prime season for doing
battle with one of my favorite fish to catch—the sailfish!
If you’ve never caught a sailfish before, you’re in for the experience of a lifetime.
Ask your captain to spend some time fishing the reef and wrecks for delicious
snapper that you can bring back to the dock and have cooked up at one of Hawks
Cay’s restaurants, and then spend some time trying to catch a sailfish. This is also the season when we
begin catching big kingfish and cobia in the Atlantic.
Inshore fishing in February is dependent on the weather. Cool water temperatures and occasional windy
days can sometimes make it difficult to catch tarpon, permit, and bonefish in the shallows, but this is a
great time to catch monster barracudas which are loads of fun on fly and light tackle. This is also the
perfect season for fishing the Florida Keys backcountry waters of Everglades National Park in search of
snook, redfish, small tarpon, trout, and more. Talk to your guide and plan your trip based on the
weather and what’s been biting best.
