PROGRAM CANCELLED
Families with children in grades 3 through 6 who have
participated in the past are advised to plan for spring
enrollment for the normative program which begins in the
fall and continues through the spring. Accommodations
for individual circumstances can be made whenever
possible after consultation with Maryann Pallotta. The
decision was made after consideration of a variety of
factors of which the declining Mass participation among
the children was primary. Every effort will be made to
encourage a more frequent participation in the Sunday
Eucharist which is foundational to religious formation.

Wrien by a Sixth Grade Student in our Religious

Caring for those in Need
Last Year I was in Chicago and I was on my way to the
mall with my friends. I passed four homeless people and I
couldn’t stop thinking of them. When we got to the mall,
I decided not to buy anything because I would rather buy
the homeless people food. While all my friends bought
things for themselves I bought food for the homeless
people. When we were walking back to the hotel my
mom and I handed out food one by one. I felt really good
aer helping all of the homeless people.

2015 YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE
The new Church year which began on November 30th has
been designated for those following Jesus through a
consecrated life. Religious throughout the world have
responded to Jesus call to “Come follow me” as a
religious, taking the vows of Poverty, Chastity and
Obedience as a consecrated Brother, Sister or Priest.
We are so fortunate to have so many of them in the
Diocese of Providence. We are especially blessed with the
presence of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Mercy who
live in Saint Anthony Convent on Pope Street. Since the
convent was established in 1997 these religious women
from Nigeria have been a blessing to our parishes.
Over the years they have taught Religious Education
Classes, volunteered in our outreach programs for
the poor, acted as sacristans for daily Mass, visited the
sick and will be soon be assisting at Holy Family Home as
overnight supervisors. Currently the convent is filled
to capacity with five nuns who also work at hospitals and
nursing homes to support their religious community.
Please remember them in your prayers during this
time and continue to pray for new vocations to the
priesthood and religious life. The following sisters are
currently residing in the convent: Sister Patricia Onyeje,
Sister Fortune Ezeugo, Sister Calista Usuwa,
Sister Bridechristiline “Sister Bride” Ogirl, and
Sister Ifeoma Odili.
We are currently preparing the end of the year letters for
those registered parishioners of Saint Anthony,
Church of the Presentation and Saint Edward
Churches who use the envelope system (and On Line
Giving) to make contributions to the parish. Please note
the totals do not include: donations made to Saint
Anthony Kitchen Ministries, Saint Edward Food and
Wellness Center, Mary’s Meals or the Holy Family Home
(those letters are mailed throughout the year), donations to
the Bazaar, 30 Chance Club, purchases of raffle tickets
and donations to other parish fundraising events. The
totals include all 2014 envelope offerings and On Line
contributions received in the parish office by January 12,
2015. Any offering received after that date will be
applied towards your offerings in 2015. As required, all
letters will be mailed by January 31st. Please note the
accuracy of the amounts stated in the letters is determined
by the information which was completed on the front of
each budget envelope. If you use the envelope system or
On Line Giving and you do not receive a letter, please call
the parish office.

II DOMINGO ORDINARIO
tenemos y no podemos conseguir.
ofrenda suelta. Dios les pague!!!
