Thoughts from our Pastor…Dear Parishioners and Friends of the parish of St. Bruno!
A warm welcome and thank you for your coming and supporting this great parish, which is the spiritual home for
many of us.
Not only colorful trinkets and gifts, are given to us to celebrate Christmas in today’s world. The commercial side of
Christmas is now unavoidable. In doing pre-Christmas shopping or even in the advertising videos one can feel the atmosphere of Christmas. However, the domain this brings to the holidays, depletes them terribly, and may even lead to the
disqualification of their sacred aspect. This situation is in many countries in Europe and in our country. We are celebrating
"Christmas", but really very little is said about Jesus. We have replaced the word "Christmas" with "Happy Holidays" in the
name of so-called political correctness. To resist the urge to reduce Christmas only to the Christmas tree, gifts and Christmas customs, we should ask yourself a few questions: Why did Jesus Christ come to earth? Why did He take the form of
a small, innocent child? What does this teach us about the attitude of Jesus, who resigns from the joy of Heaven to be
"God with us"? This is just Love. Man means a lot to God. As the Son of God became man, this is the reason for us not
only to rejoice, but also to reflect a healthy pride. This pride is rooted in the fact that through the adoption of human nature, Jesus Christ validate human dignity. Among the many other creatures only man has experienced the honor that God
became man. Contaminated by sin, human nature is healed and raised to divine dignity. Everyone who allows Jesus to
be born in your heart shall obtain a kind of elevation: waking up in him peace, forgiveness, meekness, humility and joy.
Also, human nature receives a new motivation to work on his attitude. We say that Christmas is a holyday, during which
we love God for the mystery of the incarnation of the Son of God. What is this Incarnation? Here it is important to realize
that the Son of God was the promised Messiah. He had come to earth. This coming could be in any form. Meanwhile, He
took human flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary. We should realize that Jesus Christ was fully human. He combined in
himself the nature of the divine and the human. He was a man. Jesus became man to show that man can become divinized, can become like God. He may increasingly become Love, whose school is Christmas. God appeared as a child.
That's why he is opposed to all violence and brings a message that is peace. At this time, when the world is constantly
threatened with violence in many places and in different ways. Christmas is an epiphany - the revelation of God and His
great light in a child who is born for us. Born in a stable in Bethlehem, not in the royal palaces. When, in 1223, Francis of
Assisi celebrated Christmas in Greccio with an ox and a donkey, with a manger full of hay, a new dimension of the mystery of Christmas became visible. St. Francis of Assisi called Christmas – the “feast” of Christmas - more than all other
celebrations - and celebrated it with inexpressible fervor. For the ancient Church, Christmas was a celebration of Passover: the resurrection of Christ overcame the gates of death, and thus radically changed the world. St. Francis discovered
a deep and completely new way of experiencing the humanity of Jesus. This humanity of God became the most obvious
at the time when the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, was wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a manger. In
the manger, which was between the ox and the donkey, Saint Francis celebrated the Holy Eucharist. Later an altar was
built on this crib where once the animals ate hay, now people for the health of body and soul can receive the Body of Jesus Christ. Christmas is a feast of Life. Thus, as said Saint Teresa of Calcutta: Life is an opportunity, grasp it. Life is joy,
try it. Life is a dream, make it reality. Life is a challenge, take it on. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is precious, cherish it.
Life is wealth, keep it. Life is love, enjoy it. Life is a mystery, discover it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is a hymn, sing it.
Life is a struggle, take it. Life is a tragedy, understand it. Life is an adventure, throw yourself into it. Life is happiness, deserve it. Life is life, defend it.

Drodzy Parafianie i Przyjaciele parafii świętego Brunona!
Witam bardzo serdecznie i dziękuję za Wasze przyjście i wsparcie tej wspaniałej parafii, która jest duchowym
domem dla wielu z nas.
Nie tylko kolorowe świecidełka i prezenty. W tych dniach dane jest nam przeżywać święta Bożego Narodzenia. Komercyjna strona świąt jest dziś nie do uniknięcia. W robieniu przedświątecznych zakupach czy nawet w filmikach
reklamowych dawało się odczuć atmosferę Bożego Narodzenia. Jednak sprowadzenie świąt jedynie do tej sfery, strasznie
je uszczupla, a może wręcz doprowadzić do pozbawienia ich aspektu sakralnego. Z taką sytuacją mamy do czynienia w
wielu karajach Europy czy też w naszym kraju. Świętuje się tu „Christmas”, ale tak naprawdę bardzo mało mówi się o
Jezusie. Zastępuje się słowo “Christmas” sformułowaniem “Happy holidays” w imię tak zwanej poprawności politycznej.
Aby się oprzeć spłyceniu Bożego Narodzenia jedynie do choinki, prezentów i zwyczajów świątecznych, warto sobie zadać
kilka pytań: Dlaczego Jezus Chrystus przyszedł na ziemie? Dlaczego przyjąć postać małego, niewinnego dziecka? Czego
uczy mnie postawa Jezusa, który rezygnuje z radości Nieba, aby być „Bogiem z nami”? To jest Miłość właśnie. Człowiek
wiele znaczy dla Boga. Skoro syn Boży stał się człowiekiem, to jest to dla nas powód nie tylko do radości, ale i do zdrowej
dumy. Ta duma ma swoje źródło w fakcie, że poprzez przyjęcie ludzkiej natury Jezus Chrystus dowartościował godność
człowieka. Spośród wielu innych stworzeń tylko człowiek doświadczył tego zaszczytu, że Bog stał się człowiekiem.
Skażona grzechem ludzka natura została uleczona i podniesiona do boskiej godności. Każdy więc, kto pozwoli Jezusowi
narodzić się w swoim sercu dostępuje swoistego przebóstwienia: budzi się w nim pokój, przebaczenie, cichość, pokora i
radość. Otrzymuje też nowy zapał do pracy nad swoja postawą. Mówimy, że Boże Narodzenie to Święta, podczas których
uwielbiamy Boga za tajemnicę Wcielenia Syna Bożego. Na czym polega owo Wcielenie? Ważne jest tu uświadomienie
sobie, że Syn Boży był obiecanym Mesjaszem. Miał przyjść na ziemię. To przyjście mogło mieć różną postać. Tymczasem
przyjął On ludzkie Ciało w łonie Najświętszej Maryi Panny. Warto sobie uświadomić, że Jezus Chrystus był w pełni
człowiekiem. Połączył w sobie naturę boską i ludzką. On był człowiekiem. Jezus stał się człowiekiem, aby pokazać, że
człowiek może stać się przebóstwiony, może stać się podobny do Boga. Może on coraz bardziej stawać się Miłością,
której szkołą jest Boże Narodzenie. Bóg się ukazał jako dziecko. Właśnie w ten sposób przeciwstawia się On wszelkiej
przemocy i przynosi orędzie, które jest pokojem. W tym momencie, kiedy światu nieustannie zagraża przemoc w wielu
miejscach i na różne sposoby. Boże Narodzenie to epifania — objawienie się Boga i Jego wielkiego światła w dziecku,
które dla nas się narodziło. Narodziło się w stajence w Betlejem, a nie w pałacach królewskich. Kiedy w 1223 r. Franciszek
z Asyżu obchodził Boże Narodzenie w Greccio z wołem i osłem, przy żłobie pełnym siana, widoczny stał się nowy wymiar
tajemnicy Bożego Narodzenia. Franciszek z Asyżu nazwał Boże Narodzenie świętem nad świętami — większym od
wszystkich innych uroczystości — i obchodził je z niewysłowionym zapałem. Dla starożytnego Kościoła świętem nad
świętami była Pascha: przez zmartwychwstanie Chrystus pokonał bramy śmierci i w ten sposób radykalnie zmienił świat.
Święty Franciszek zaś odkrył głęboki i całkowicie nowy sposób człowieczeństwa Jezusa. To człowieczeństwo Boga stało
się dla niego najbardziej oczywiste w chwili, kiedy Syn Boży, zrodzony z Dziewicy Maryi, został owinięty w pieluszki i
złożony w żłobie. Przy żłobie, który stał pomiędzy wołem a osłem, święty Franciszek kazał sprawować Najświętszą Eucharystię. Później nad tym żłóbkiem został zbudowany ołtarz, aby tam, gdzie niegdyś zwierzęta jadły siano, teraz ludzie dla
zdrowia duszy i ciała mogli otrzymywać Ciało Jezusa Chrystusa. Boże Narodzenie to Święto Życia. Zatem, jak mówiła
święta Teresa z Kalkuty: Życie jest szansą, schwyć ją. Życie jest radością, próbuj ją. Życie jest snem, uczyń je
prawdą. Życie jest wyzwaniem, zmierz się z nim. Życie jest obowiązkiem, wypełnij go. Życie jest cenne, doceń je. Życie
jest bogactwem, strzeż go. Życie jest miłością, ciesz się nią. Życie jest tajemnicą, odkryj ją. Życie jest obietnicą, spełnij
ją. Życie jest hymnem, wyśpiewaj go. Życie jest walką, podejmij ją. Życie jest tragedią, pojmij ją. Życie jest przygodą, rzuć
się w nią. Życie jest szczęściem, zasłuż na nie. Życie jest życiem, obroń je.

Queridos feligreses y amigos de la parroquia de San Bruno!
Una cálida bienvenida y gracias por venir y apoyar esta gran parroquia, que es el hogar espiritual para muchos de
nosotros.
No sólo las baratijas y regalos coloridos, se nos dan para celebrar la Navidad en el mundo actual. El lado comercial de
la Navidad es ahora inevitable. Al hacer compras antes de Navidad o incluso En los videos publicitarios uno puede sentir
la atmósfera de Navidad. Sin embargo, el dominio que esto trae para las fiestas, les agota terriblemente, y puede incluso
conducir a la descalificación de su aspecto sagrado. Esta situación es, en muchos países de Europa y en nuestro país.
Estamos celebrando la "Navidad", pero se dice muy poco acerca de Jesús. Hemos sustituido la palabra "Navidad" con
"Felices fiestas" en el nombre de la llamada corrección política. Para resistir la tentación de reducir la Navidad sólo a los
árboles, los regalos de Navidad y costumbres de Navidad, habría que preguntarse a sí mismo: ¿Por qué Jesús Cristo vino
a la tierra? ¿Por qué Él toma la forma de un pequeño niño inocente? ¿Qué nos enseña esto sobre la actitud de Jesús,
que renuncia a la alegría del Cielo para ser "Dios con nosotros"? Esto es sólo amor. Hombre significa mucho para Dios.
Como el Hijo de Dios se hizo hombre, esta es la razón de nosotros, no sólo para la alegría, sino también para reflejar un
sano orgullo. Este orgullo se basa en el hecho de que a través de la adopción de la naturaleza humana, Jesucristo valida
la dignidad humana. Entre las muchas otras criaturas sólo el hombre ha experimentado el honor que Dios que se hizo
hombre. Contaminada por el pecado, la naturaleza humana es sanada y elevada a la dignidad divina. Todo el mundo que
permite que Jesús nazca en su corazón deberá obtener una especie de elevación: despertar en él la paz, el perdón, la
mansedumbre, la humildad y la alegría. Además, la naturaleza humana recibe una nueva motivación para trabajar en su
actitud. Decimos que la Navidad es una fiesta, durante la cual amamos a Dios por el misterio de la encarnación del Hijo
de Dios. ¿Qué es esta Encarnación? Aquí es importante darse cuenta de que el Hijo de Dios era el Mesías prometido. Él
había venido a la tierra. Esta venida podría ser en cualquier forma. Mientras tanto, Él tomó la forma humana en el seno de
la Virgen María. Debemos darnos cuenta de que Jesucristo era completamente humano. Combinó en sí mismo la naturaleza de lo divino y lo humano. Él era un hombre. Jesús se hizo hombre para mostrar que el hombre puede llegar a ser
divinizado, puede llegar a ser como Dios. Se puede llegar a tener cada vez más amor, cuya escuela es Navidad. Dios se
apareció como un niño. Es por eso que se opone a toda violencia y lleva un mensaje que es paz. En este momento, cuando el mundo está constantemente amenazado por la violencia en muchos lugares y de diferentes maneras. La Navidad es
una epifanía - la revelación de Dios y su gran luz en un niño que ha nacido para nosotros. Nacido en un establo en Belén,
no en los palacios reales. Cuando, en 1223, Francisco de Asís celebró la Navidad en Greccio con un buey y un asno, con
un pesebre lleno de heno, una nueva dimensión del misterio de la Navidad se hizo visible. San Francisco de Asís llama
Navidad - la "fiesta" de Navidad - más que todas las otras celebraciones - y lo celebró con fervor inexpresable. Para la
Iglesia antigua, la Navidad era una celebración de la Pascua: la resurrección de Cristo venció las puertas de la muerte, y

BAPTISM
Please call the rectory to make arrangements. All parents and
godparents are required to attend a Baptismal Preparation
session. English Baptisms are on the first Sunday after the
8:30AM or 11:30AM Mass. Polish Baptisms are on the
second Sunday after the 10:00AM Mass. Spanish Baptisms
are on the third Sunday after the 1:00 PM Mass.
MARRIAGE Call the rectory to make arrangements at least 6
months in advance. Your date will be confirmed at the first
meeting with priest or deacon. Pre-Cana conferences are
required.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK AND COMMUNION
CALLS
Please call the rectory to have a priest come for the sacrament
