Q - "At Mass, how is the bread and wine God’s body and blood? When I see the
bread, I don’t see flesh and the wine is not thick enough to be blood.”
Are you interested in becoming a Catholic - Would you
like to learn more about the Catholic Church, or the process for
becoming Catholic? Or are you a Catholic adult who needs to
complete the sacrament of Confirmation? Now is the time to get
started.
In the Eucharist we don’t see the flesh and blood in the natural forms. That’s because the Eucharist is a sacrament, which means it’s a sign. We have to have faith
in the invisible reality, which is Christ’s body, blood, soul and divinity.
F.U.E.L. dates are as following:
First Communion Guidelines for Children
The earliest that a child can celebrate the sacrament is at the end of
2nd grade after attendance in 1st grade. For older children, the
same two year process applies, on appropriate grade level.

Virtue of the Month of November and December - GRATITUDE
The virtue of gratitude has been called a state of mind and a way of life. Gratitude shapes our entire
outlook on life. It is the channel through which we become aware of the sacred, and the many
blessings of our lives. Gratitude can be applied to all of our daily activities.
It links us to the divine and to every other part of the creation.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
PLEASE CONSIDER APPLYING FOR A CHAIR IN THIS COUNCIL
PPC (Parish Pastoral Council) is a group of parishioners that work together with the
Pastor to do pastoral planning for Saint Anne Parish. Most meetings include updates on
our many Saint Anne councils and committees, news from our Catholic School, regular
updates on finances from our Finance Council liaison, opportunities for various volunteer and philanthropic activities and thoughtful responses to parishioner-raised issues
and questions. We are continually guided by the Holy Spirit as we discuss these topics.
All opinions are valued and respected. Parish Council recommendations are made only
after reaching a broad consensus with much prayerful deliberation. Please visit
www.saintanne.com/parish/parish-pastoral-council/
CCC # 2404 says “In his use of things man
should regard the external goods he legitimately owns not merely as exclusive to himself
but common to others also, in the sense that
they can benefit others as well as himself. The
ownership of any property makes its holder a
steward of Providence, with the task of making
it fruitful and communicating its benefits to
others, first of all his family. Let us prayerfully
consider what it means for us to be “stewards of
Providence.

Thank you to all who help and attended the Fall
Festival sponsored by Saint Vincent DePaul
Society. Lots of fun for the children, decadent
sweets, beautiful baskets in the Silent Auction
and as always the best spaghetti meat balls in
town. All proceeds will help the poorest of the
poor of our parish and around the community.
Last Sunday the Knights of Columbus led the
folding of our national flag after the 10:30am
Mass. Many parishioners told me how impressive and emotional the ceremony was. Thanks
to the Knights of Columbus we were able to
offered this ceremony in honor of all veterans
who sacrifice their lives and families for our
safety and our liberty.
Throughout this past year many parishioners
have shared their suffering and frustration
caused by the uncertainties of the present political events. When a parishioner is willing to
hear I reaffirmed our belief that the Sun of Justice brings healing and salvation.
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells his followers not
to be terrified when disturbing events occur but
to remain faithful and place their complete trust
in God. Let us do the same.

Maxims of
St. Philip Neri
The man who loves God with a
true heart, and prizes him above
all things, sometimes sheds

forced to cry out, “Lord! let me be quiet!”
St. Philip Neri (1515-1595)
The cast of St. Anne School’s
production of Twelfth Night,
has been diligently preparing
and is excited to perform this
wonderfully comedic Shakespeare piece. Performances

Barron will highlight biblical insights

GRATITUDE
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS God of Love, You show your favor for us and grace us through baptism.
Bless us with the courage to carry out the mission of Jesus. Grant us open and generous hearts to see the
needs of others and to respond with compassion. May the Church be blest with women and men who are
dedicated to You through marriage, the single life, the diaconate, priesthood, and the consecrated life.
It is in Christ and through Christ that we offer ourselves to You now and forever. Amen.

Jornada de la Misericordia para la
Semana Nacional de la Biblia
THANKSGIVING
