Objetivos
1. Comprender que la nube significaba la presencia de Dios en su pueblo.
2. Agradecer al Señor por cuidarlos y
protegerlos.
3. Mencionar por lo menos tres situaciones en que Dios los cuida y
protege.
Materiales

Libro de Figuras, revistas, papel, cartulina, lápices, marcadores, plastilina,
sombrillas, un juguete, arena, papel
periódico y merienda.
Datos bíblicos para el maestro
Durante mucho tiempo los israelitas habían
vivido como esclavos en Egipto. Era necesario
que ellos aprendieran a vivir un nuevo estilo
de vida, y por eso, Dios comenzó a dirigirlos.
También necesitaban prepararse para la tarea
de conquistar a Canaán y qué mejor lugar para
hacerlo que el desierto. El Señor no los guió
por la ruta directa de Egipto a la tierra prometida; sino que los llevó por un camino más
largo, para evitar confrontaciones con pueblos
enemigos y hostiles. La ruta directa estaba
defendida por guarniciones egipcias, además,
en aquel tiempo había un gran muro desde el
mar Muerto hasta el Mediterráneo. Dios los
condujo no por el camino más corto, sino por
el que era mejor para ellos. Mientras estuvieron en el desierto la columna de fuego y la
nube guiaron siempre a los israelitas.

Biblical information
for the teacher
For many years the Israelites had lived as slaves
in Egypt. They needed to learn to live a new
lifestyle, so God began to direct them. They
also needed to prepare for the task of conquering Canaan and what better place to do
so than in the desert. The Lord did not guide
them on the direct route from Egypt to the
Promised Land; He took them on a longer
path, to prevent confrontations with hostile
enemy nations. Egyptian guards defended the
direct route, and at that time there was a great
wall from the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean.
God did not guide them on the shortest path,
but on the path, that was best for them. The
pillar of fire and the cloud never departed the
Israelites’ camp until they arrived in the Promised Land.
It’s time to start!

Moisés el líder de los israelitas los reunió y les
dijo: —Comiencen a empacar nos iremos de
este país en unas horas. El faraón, rey de Egipto, nos ha dejado libres. ¡Ya no somos esclavos
de este lugar!
La gente al escucharlo gritaba de júbilo y alegría. Pero Moisés les decía: —No hay que perder tiempo, apúrense.
—¿A dónde vamos, papá?, ¿dónde será nuestra nueva casa?—preguntó un pequeño a su
padre. —No lo sé, hijo, esperemos a que Moisés nos guíe.
—Pudo haberle respondido el padre.
Ya casi amanecía cuando comenzaron su recorrido. Al salir los primeros rayos del sol,
comenzaron a sentir calor pues en el desierto
el sol es muy fuerte, entonces, vieron aparecer
una nube que poco a poco fue tapando el sol
hasta cubrirlo totalmente. El pueblo de Israel
no lo podía creer: ¡Dios les había enviado una
nube que los protegería del sol! Luego se dieron cuenta que la nube también les indicaba el
camino por donde debían andar. ¿Pero saben
que pasó en la noche? Todo estaba oscuro y no
podían ver la nube, ni el camino. ¿Saben qué
hizo Dios?, les puso una columna de fuego
en vez de la nube que les alumbraba el camino y los guiaba por la ruta que Dios quería.
(Muestre la escena del pueblo de Dios guiado por
la nube). ¡Qué bueno fue Dios! Él iba delante
de su pueblo, lo guiaba y lo protegía, por el día
con la nube y por la noche con la columna de
fuego. Aunque los israelitas pasaron muchos
años caminando en el desierto, ¿creen que la
nube dejó de salir algún día o que la columna
de fuego se apagó alguna noche? ¡No! Dice la
Biblia que Dios hizo que la nube y el fuego los
acompañaran todos los días, hasta que entraron al lugar que Él les había prometido.
Aplicación
Dios guió y cuidó a su pueblo, en todo momento estuvo con ellos, y sin importar si era
de día o de noche su presencia los acompañó.
Él nunca los desamparó o se olvidó de hacer
que la nube o columna apareciera. Dios también los cuida a ustedes siempre, en el día o
la noche, cuando llueve o hace sol, en momentos de alegría o de tristeza, porque Él ha
prometido estar siempre con los que lo aman.
Pida a los niños que le digan cómo Dios los
ha guiado y cuidado cada día. Comparta con
los niños una situación personal en la que ha
sentido que Dios lo ha guiado. Luego, permita
que ellos también hablen de sus experiencias.
Dinámica de repaso
Escriba cada pregunta en siluetas de nubes y
de columna de fuego, péguelas en la pizarra.

Entre todos los alumnos harán una maqueta
grande para representar la travesía del pueblo
de Dios en el desierto. La maqueta será terminada en el estudio cinco. En cada clase irán
incorporando el milagro que aprendieron ese
día. Para esta primera clase: escoja un rincón
del aula apropiado para el proyecto. Forme a
los niños en grupos. Un equipo delimitará el
área del desierto poniendo sobre el piso papel
periódico y piedras, traerán arena y rellenarán
el área. Otro grupo hará la nube y la columna
de fuego con cartulina y las pintarán con marcadores. Un tercer grupo hará en plastilina a
la multitud y otros elementos. Mientras trabajan, afiance los objetivos de la lección. Recuerde que este proyecto deben seguirlo haciendo,
durante los siguientes estudios.
Clausura
Como merienda puede ofrecer algodones de
azúcar, esta golosina les ayudará a recordar la
nube que Dios proveyó para su pueblo. Para
despedirlos, que se tomen de las manos y ore
para que ellos se dejen cuidar por Dios.
Ayudas visuales
El Libro de Figuras contiene las escenas que
ilustran cada lección. Por cada estudio hay
una lámina grande que comprende la escena
principal del estudio. Al pie de la página de
cada una, encontrará el número y el título de
la lección a la que pertenece. Desprenda la
escena que corresponde a la lección de hoy y
muéstrela en el momento indicado en la historia bíblica.

Bible story
Moses, the leader of the Israelites, gathered
them together and said, “Start packing up, we
will leave this country in a few hours. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, is letting us go free.
We are no longer slaves in this place!”
When the people heard him say this, they began to shout for joy. Moses told them, “There
is no time to lose, hurry.”
“Where will we go, father? Where will our
house be?” a young boy inquired of his father.
“I do not know son, let us wait for Moses to
guide us.”
It was almost dawn when they began their
journey. As the first rays of the sun began to
shine, they started to feel hot because the sun
is very strong in the desert; then they saw a
cloud slowly begin to cover the sun completely. The people of Israel could not believe it:
God had sent them a cloud to protect them
from the sun!
Later, they noticed that the cloud also indicated the path that they should take. Do you
know what happened at night? Everything
was dark, and they could not see the cloud
or the path. Do you know what God did? He
placed a pillar of fire in place of the cloud that
illuminated the path and guided them on the
route that God wanted. (Show the scene of
God’s people being guided by the cloud.) God
was so good! He went before His people, guiding and protecting them, by day with a cloud
and by night with a pillar of fire. Although
the Israelites spent many years walking in the
desert, do you think the cloud did not come
out one day, or the fire went out at night? No!
The Bible says that God caused the cloud and
the fire to go with them every day until they
went into the place He had promised them.
Application
God guided and cared for His people, and in
every moment He was with them, no matter if
it was day or night, His presence accompanied
them. He never forsook them or forgot to
provide them the cloud or the fire. God also
cares for us, day or night, when it’s rainy or
sunny, in moments of joy or sadness, because
He has promised always to be with those who
love Him. Ask the children to tell how God
has guided and cared for them each day. Share
with the children a personal situation where
you have felt God lead you. Then, allow them
also to talk about their experiences.
Dynamic review
Write each question on cloud and fire cutouts
and hang them on the board. The children
will voluntarily come up and take a cutout
and answer the question written on it.
1. Where did the Israelites walk when they left
Egypt? In the desert.

Verse to Memorize
“The Lord went before to lead the way”
(Exodus 13:21).
Get several tissue paper umbrellas (you can also draw
the outline on construction paper). Place one
word from the verse
on each umbrella and
hide them in the class
or outside. Form several groups. Open your
Bible, read the verse and
have them repeat it several
times. Next, look for the objects that you hid (explain that
each group will look for one).
When they find them, they will read
the words written on them and then
put the verse in order by hanging them
on the board. Later, everyone will say it in
unison. Finish by asking them to say the verse
individually. (For other memorization activities, look at the book
Easy and Fun, How to Memorize Verses, from the series Teaching
Secrets from Senda de Vida).

Exercises in the Champions
student workbook
Remember that each child should have a copy
of the student workbook. Hand out the books
and materials they will need. Then explain the
instructions and have them begin working.
Optional work
The students will make a large model to represent God’s people going through the desert.
In lesson five the model will be finished. In
each class, they will incorporate the miracle
they learned about that day. For this first class:
choose a corner of the classroom appropriate for the project. Arrange the children in
groups. One team will lay down newspaper
and rocks on the floor marking the area of
the desert, bring in sand and fill up the area.
Another group will make the cloud and the
pillar of fire with cardboard and color them
with markers. A third group will make the
multitude and other items using play dough.
While they work, reinforce the objectives of
the lesson. Remember that they will continue
to work on this project during five classes.
Closing
As a snack you can offer cotton candy, this
snack will help them to remember the cloud
that God provided for His people. To dismiss
them, have them hold hands and pray that
they would allow God to care for them.
Visual aids
The Book of Figures contains the scenes that
illustrate each lesson. For each study, there is
a large poster that contains the main scene of
the study. At the foot of each page, you will
find the number and the title of the lesson
that it belongs. Detach the scene that corresponds to today’s lesson and show it at the
moment indicated in the Bible story.
