Why aeronautical structure repairs at production stage?
Why is this course in line with AIRBUS objectives?
“Airbus designs and produces aircrafts”, around these two objectives thousands of people
are working every day in production, quality, manufacturing engineering… the repairs
definition knowledge from design and stress point of view, is an important added value for
all this staff who do not have his main activity in engineering but works as costumer of the
repairs definition in his daily work.
To understand the effect of the defect and why a repair is defined or not defined is key in
order, to prioritize activities, to define work processes, to find and to eliminate defect root
causes. At the end, to do the things right first time and to delivery in time, cost and quality.
Why is this course an add value to the STUDENTS degree?
As we explain above, to have a repair knowledge helps to work right first time.
The students, as future engineers, must analyse and understand the production
issues from a design point of view in order to add value to the production chain and
also to the product design definition phase.
Structure repairs are between the two main Airbus essentials, to design and
produce aircrafts, this course is an opportunity to have a global view of the Airbus
core business .
