THE CATHOLIC CHAPLAIN CORPS
The Catholic Chaplain Corps (CCC) of the Archdiocese of GalvestonHouston provides pastoral and sacramental ministry for patients in the
Texas Medical Center and other selected Houston area hospitals. A
very important part of the Pastoral Assistants (PA). The PA formation
process is four months in length.
If you are interested in learning more about being a Pastoral assistant,
the process is as follow:
* Call Rebeca Carrum at 713-471-1828
* If after the conversation, you want an application form, one will be
sent to you via email, or post.
* Complete the application form and return in to the CCC office.
* After the completed application form is received, an interview will
be scheduled.
A new series of Classes begins Thursday, January 7, 7:00-9:00 pm.
FROM THE PASTOR
Next weekend, Nov. 14-15 we will have a special preacher at
all our Masses. A Redemptorist, Fr. John Fahey-Guerra,
C.Ss.R. will be representing the Co-Redemptorist Association. It is a special association dedicated to supporting our
Redemptorist seminarians with prayer and with finances. I,
like many Redemptorists, owe my seminary education to the
support of the many people who have been Co-Redemptorists
through the years. My parents would not have been able to
support my seminary education themselves, but thanks to the
support of others, I was able to go through the seminary and
eventually become a Redemptorist. The same is still true: we
need your support for the young men interested in becoming
Redemptorists priests. And we certainly need more priests. I
know you will be generous to us Redemptorists, as you always have been in the past.

The Book of the Dead is a book with the names of
our beloved deceased who have gone before us in
faith. The book will be displayed in the church during the month of November. Every one is invited to enter the

MASS BOOK TO OPEN
Wednesday, December 2
We will open the Mass Book for the first half of 2016 (JanuaryJune). Sign-in will begin at 8:30 am, on Wednesday December
2, 2015. We have chosen this method of signing up Masses so
that everyone will have an equal opportunity to have Masses
said. Please do not ask for special favors. The masses signed
up will be Masses scheduled to be celebrated in the church
when the Mass Intention is announced in the bulletin. We remind that one mass each week will have been reserved to be
signed up for persons who die within that six months. Due to
the demand, we again are limiting the number of weekend
Masses that may be signed up from any one individual or for
any one individual to one weekend Mass. Mass intentions will
be accepted on a “first come, first served’ basis. We are sorry,
but no time, date nor Mass intention will be accepted by phone.

SPAGHETTI DINNER
Holy Ghost School is sponsoring its
annual Spaghetti Dinner on Friday
November 20 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00
p.m. Tickets are available in the
school and rectory office. The meal
includes a drink and dessert. Adult $6.00 and children $5.00. There will be live entertainment performed by the “HGS Pasta Kids”.
WORLD’S FINEST CHOCOLATE
Is coming to Holy Ghost School in two weeks. Students will once again be selling candy outside our
church after all the Masses if you have that urge to
satisfy your “sweet tooth”. The candy bars and boxes
of almonds would also make great “Stocking Stuffers”
at Christmas, if they last that long. Help support our
parish school in this sweet fundraiser.
STEPS4STUDENTS MARATHON
Registration for the Archdiocesan “Steps4Students
Marathon”, supporting our Catholic schools, is now
open. When you register, be sure to sign up on our
Holy Ghost School Team Page. To register, go on line

VETERANS DAY
SPECIAL SERVICE
On Wednesday, November 11th Holy
Ghost School will be honoring our
veterans with a special prayer service at 2:00 p.m. in
the church. We invite all parishioners who have
served in any branch of the armed forces to come
join us for this special celebration. The front pews
will be reserved for such guests.

MANTENIENDO VIVA LA PROMESA
PROGRAMA KPA
Manteniendo Viva la Promesa es un curso mandatorio para
los que hicieron el programa “Protegiendo los Niños de Dios”
VIRTUS entre los años 2003, 2010. Es una sesión de 1 hora
y media con un video que provee información actualizada para
prevenir el abuso sexual a los niños. El material usado en el
programa “Manteniendo Viva la Promesa” es designado
para identificar y reforzar las lecciones del programa original
“Protegiendo a los Niños de Dios” clarificando algunos de los
puntos más desafiantes de la sesión y reforzando la habilidad
de los asistentes a identificar a los abusadores en la comunidad
y a tomar acción en las situaciones de abuso. Usted tiene hasta
Diciembre 2015 para completar este curso y asi mantener su
VIRTUS status de Voluntario.
Habrá una presentación del programa “Manteniendo Viva la
Promesa” el Viernes 13 de Noviembre, 2015. Será en el
Gimnasio de las 7:00 a 8:30 pm. Para registrarse puede ir al
internet al sitio www.virtus.org. Para registrarse, o puede
atender a cualquier iglesia de la Arquidiócesis donde lo presenten.

CENA DE SPAGHETTI
De el Pastor
El próximo fin de semana, 14 y 15 de Noviembre, tendremos un predicador especial en todas nuestras misas. El Padre
Redentorista John Fahey-Guerra, C.Ss.R. Estará representando a la Asociación Co-Redentorista. Esta es una asociación especial dedicada a apoyar a nuestros Seminaristas
Redentoristas, con oración y financieramente. Yo, como
muchos Redentoristas, le debo mi educación de seminarista al
apoyo de muchas personas que han pertenecido a la asociación Co-Redentorista por muchos años. Mis padres no podrían haberme financiado toda mi educación religiosa, pero
gracias al apoyo de otros, tuve la oportunidad de ir al seminario y eventualmente hacerme un sacerdote Redentorista. Lo
mismo es ahora: Necesitamos su apoyo para nuestros jóvenes
interesados en ser sacerdotes Redentoristas. Y ciertamente
todos necesitamos más sacerdotes. Estoy seguro que puedo
contar con su generoso apoyo hacia los Redentoristas, como
siempre lo han hecho en el pasado. Gracias!

La Escuela Holy Ghost estará llevando a
cabo su Cena Anual de Spaguetti el
Viernes 20 de Noviembre de las 5:00 a
