My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
Merry Christmas! – In anticipation. I hope everyone is either ready for Christmas or else prepared to “go with the flow”
and not let last minute preparations destroy the joy and beauty of these days. Let us take special advantage of these
days to do the Works of Mercy. Remember: “Jesus is the reason for the season” and we, fellow human beings, are the
reason Jesus came.
I would like to invite everyone to come and celebrate the feast of Christmas together. In particular, I would like to highlight
the Christmas Family Mass at 4:00 pm on Christmas Eve. Our children’s choir sings, we bless the parish Crèche and we
light the parish Christmas tree all at that Mass as it is the first Mass of Christmas in the parish.
I would also like to highlight Midnight Mass at the parish. It is just beautiful. The combined choirs of the parish will sing
for this Mass, beginning with a prelude at 11:30 pm. Midnight Mass is the Christmas Mass that draws the whole parish
community together. It is a multilingual Mass with an intimacy and power that is all its own. Please join us and bring your
family and friends, especially the children.
As far back as I can remember Midnight Mass was my favorite Mass of the year and by the time I got home I was tired
enough to fall asleep and make room for Santa’s visit. And don’t be shy about inviting your neighbors and friends. This is
a time when many minds and hearts turn to God and an invitation from a friend or family member may be all it takes to
change a person’s life. What better way to celebrate Christ coming to us than to reach out to others in His name?
If you are traveling to be with family and friends for Christmas, may God go with you and bring you safely home to us. For
all, may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be yours this Christmas and always.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
¡Feliz Navidad! – Por adelantado. Espero que todos estén bien preparados para la Navidad o si no, dispuestos a "ir con
la corriente" y no dejar que los preparativos de última hora destruyan la alegría y la belleza de estos días. Tomemos ventaja especial de estos días para hacer las Obras de Misericordia. Recuerden: "Jesús es la razón de la estación" y nosotros, los seres humanos, somos la razón por la que Jesús vino.
Me gustaría invitar a todos a venir y celebrar la fiesta de la Navidad juntos. En particular, me gustaría destacar la Misa
Familiar de Navidad a las 4:00 pm el día de Nochebuena. Nuestro coro de niños canta, bendecimos el Nacimiento de la
parroquia y encendemos el árbol de Navidad de la parroquia todo en esta Misa, ya que es la primera Misa de Navidad en
la parroquia.
También me gustaría destacar la Misa del Gallo en la parroquia. Es simplemente hermoso. Los coros combinados de la
parroquia cantarán para esta Misa, comenzando con un preludio a las 11:30 pm. La Misa del Gallo es la Misa de Navidad
que atrae juntos a toda la comunidad parroquial. Es una Misa multilingüe que tiene intimidad y poder en sí misma. Por
favor, únase a nosotros y traiga a su familia y amigos, especialmente los niños.
Tan lejos como puedo recordar, la Misa del Gallo fue mi Misa favorita del año y para cuando llegaba a casa estaba lo
suficientemente cansado como para conciliar el sueño y hacer espacio para la visita de Santa Claus. Y no tenga timidez
para invitar a sus vecinos y amigos. Este es un momento en que muchas mentes y corazones se vuelven a Dios y una
invitación de un amigo o miembro de la familia puede ser todo lo que se necesita para cambiar la vida de una persona.
¿Qué mejor manera de celebrar la venida de Cristo a nosotros que llegar a otros en Su nombre?
Si va a viajar para estar con la familia y amigos para la Navidad, que Dios le acompañe y que les traiga seguros de vuelta
a casa con nosotros. Para todos, que la gracia y la paz de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea suya en esta Navidad y siempre.
