who have supported our efforts to raise funds for the
mission of CSS in our parish and in our community.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness for all that
you do for our parish. We are truly blessed because
we always work as a family of God and as a community of faith sharing the many gifts and talents that the
Lord has given to us.
World Mission Sunday:
Me gustaría expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a
todos los que han apoyado nuestros esfuerzos para recaudar fondos para la misión de los SSC en nuestra parroquia y

Thank you also for your support of World Mission Sunday last weekend. Let us continue to support the mission of the Church by praying for all the missionaries
throughout the world. We pray for more vocations to
the priesthood and the religious life and secondly, let
us support the mission of the Church by sharing our 3
T’s (Time, Talent, and Treasure). The Lord said beautifully “What you have received give as a gift to others.” May we always pray and support the mission of
the Church at all times.

Gracias también por su apoyo a la Jornada Mundial de las
Misiones el pasado fin de semana. Sigamos apoyando la
misión de la Iglesia, orando por todos los misioneros en
todo el mundo. Oramos por más vocaciones al sacerdocio y
a la vida religiosa y en segundo lugar, apoyemos la misión
de la Iglesia, compartiendo nuestras 3 ‘T’s (Tiempo, Talento
y Tesoro). El Señor dijo muy bien "Lo que han recibido denlo como regalo a los demás." Que siempre oremos y apoyemos la misión de la Iglesia en todo momento.
Archbishop Blase Cupich message regarding
Synod of Bishop on Family:
Mensaje del Arzobispo Blase Cupich en relación al
Sínodo de Obispos sobre la Familia:
As you well know, Archbishop Cupich is in Rome representing us for the Synod of Bishop on Family in Rome.
I listened to his message last week and this was some
of his reflections. He said that the word- RECONCILIATION has been mentioned several times in their sessions. He said “people who are reconciled, they learn
to see each other ‘eye to eye again.” He also mentioned that he is seeing more transformation and
change among the synod fathers (bishops) and he
asks for our prayers for the success of the Synod of
Bishops on family.
Como ustedes bien saben, el Arzobispo Cupich está en Roma representándonos en el Sínodo de los Obispos sobre la
Familia en Roma. Escuché su mensaje la semana pasada y
estas fueron algunas de sus reflexiones. Dijo que la palabra
RECONCILIACIÓN - ha sido mencionada varias veces en sus
sesiones. Dijo que "las personas que están reconciliadas,
aprenden a verse entre sí a los ojos de nuevo." También
mencionó que él está viendo más la transformación y el
cambio entre los padres sinodales (obispos) y pide nuestras
oraciones por el éxito del Sínodo de los Obispos sobre la
familia.
Fr. Lou Camile, who accompanied the Archbishop in
Rome, also has an important message to share about
the mission of the family. While the synod fathers
(bishops) have reflected on the issues and challenges
of families, they too have discussed the mission of the
family, especially in addressing the issue of poverty,
justice, and peace. He mentioned that the Church is
like a family and the family is like a Church. It is the
mission of the Church (the family of God) to be an instrument of Christ’s healing and transformation of the
world. May God bless all families. May God bless the
synod of bishops. We pray that this synod will bring
about greater reconciliation, healing, and a change of
heart for all families.
Padre Lou Camile, quien acompañó al Arzobispo en Roma,
también tiene un mensaje importante para compartir acerca
de la misión de la familia. Mientras que los padres sinodales
(obispos) han reflexionado sobre los problemas y desafíos

30º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
"And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But
he kept calling out all the more." The blind Bartimaeus
was a courageous fellow. Not only was he bold
enough to call out to Jesus who was passing by, but
he also had the guts to keep on calling, even when
people were telling him to be quiet. Clearly, this man
knew that he needed Jesus--and he wasn't about to
let popular opinion convince him otherwise.
En este domingo escuchamos el hermoso relato del
ciego de Jericó. El ciego está sentado y depende de
otros para moverse debido a su condición física: solo
puede pedir limosna. Sin embargo, nos debe llamar la
atención que en medio del bullicio él escucha a Jesús,
quien va pasando por el camino. Inmediatamente toma acción y a gritos pide que le hagan caso; que lo
acerquen a Jesús. La respuesta es dura. Los que lo
rodean le dan la orden de callarse, pero él grita más
fuerte: "¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!"
Cuantas veces habrá gritado a voz en cuello, quizá
desesperado pero igualmente confiado en ser escuchado. No lo sabemos, pues el Evangelio no lo menciona. Lo que si podemos ver es que Bartimeo estaba
haciendo su profesión de fe. Pero el lamento del ciego
y el escándalo de las personas a su alrededor hacen
que Jesús se detenga y diga: "Llámenlo".
What were those people thinking who tried to silence
the poor beggar? Perhaps they thought that Jesus
was too busy for a stop along the way. Maybe they
bought into the prevalent idea that Bartimaeus' blindness was a punishment for sin and that he was therefore a lost cause. Or it could be that they were just
annoyed by his persistence. Whatever the case, these
folks tried to pressure Bartimaeus into giving up. But
he didn't. And the reward for his steadfastness was
priceless: "Immediately he received his sight."
Immediately, that is, after he encountered Christ. But
let's not forget that he had to invest all that time and
energy earlier in order to arrive at that precious encounter. And we may have to do the same. Our persistence in prayer is often a necessary first step to the
gift of God's intervention in our lives. We, like Bartimaeus, may have to call out time and time again,
making our requests known to Jesus even when it
may seem he isn't looking our way. We too may need
to be faithful in the face of doubters and detractors
who tell us that our prayers are pointless, that God
doesn't really care, or that we deserve to be stuck in
our own misery. Let us seek to be like this man who
heard Jesus say, "Your faith has saved you."
¿Has hecho alguna vez en tu vida algún escándalo
para ser escuchado? ¿A quién le pides que te ayude?
¿Se ha detenido esta persona para escucharte? ¿Te
has detenido tú para escuchar a las personas que te
lo piden? Ten piedad, Señor, de nosotros: te lo imploramos como el ciego. En la orilla del camino hay muchos ciegos, cojos, niños con hambre, tráfico humano
y mucho más. Detente, Señor, y mira: llámanos por
nuestro nombre para que nos comprometamos contigo a sanar las heridas y a dar esperanza de vida a los
que nos rodean. Estamos ciegos. Compadécete de
nosotros en este siglo XXI. Por último, enséñanos a
no pasar de largo ante situaciones que necesitan
nuestro apoyo y nuestro amor, para que así podamos
recibir tus palabras: "Vete; tu fe te ha salvado"
(Mc 10, 52).

donated school supplies to The Homeless Children of Lake County.
Gracias a todos los feligreses que generosamente
donaron útiles escolares a Los Niños Sin Hogar

The weekend of October 31 and November 1st we
will collect donated new t-shirts, underwear, and
socks for The Homeless Children of Lake County
and The Food Pantry of Most Blessed Trinity.

will distribute the items to the Homeless Children
of Lake County.
The items must be new socks, tee-shirts, and underwear sizes 3 to adults (teen). We thank you
for your generosity and support.
The bins for donations will be on the Altars at all
sites and will be labeled.

Saturday, November 7
Join Catholic Charities and the Women's Board of Catholic Charities Lake County Services on Saturday, November 7, for a North Shore-style tailgate to kick-off, a touch down inspired event. The event begins at 6 p.m., at
the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, and is the kick-off for the Art of Caring benefit, which will be held on May 21,
2016, to raise money for Catholic Charities Lake County programs and services. Please join our Team Captains,
Sara Stauder and Carolyn Milligan, who have a Touchdown Evening planned filled with a Tailgate Buffett, Craft
Beer and a Pick-A-Prize Raffle. There is still time to secure your seat; tickets start at $80 per person. For tickets
