TO ALL PARISHIONERS
Volume 98
Dear Father Joseph and all my dear friends at St. Louis
the King,
On the sad day that I left all of you behind, I
kept hope alive in my heart, trusting that someday I would
return to see all of you again and NOW it’s going to happen. One of our CSA community members had a superabundance of frequent-flyer miles and offered to use some
to get me a ticket for a trip to Phoenix. At first I had
thought to surprise you by just showing up; but I am having such great joy in the anticipation of this visit, that I
decided you should share the joy.
I will come on Tuesday, December 1 and stay until the
12th unless I can change the ticket to the 14th. That would
give me two weekends as a winter visitor with people very
dear to my heart and fill the Christmas of 2015 with many
new memories to carry into 2016. Until I see you, may
God be gracious to you and look on you with love.
Sister Rachel.

ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE DIOCESE
LITURGY CORNER
Families Must Forgive
“One cannot live without forgiving, or at least one
cannot live well, especially in the family,” the pope
said Nov. 4 at his weekly general audience. He reflected on the great gift that marriage and the family
are for society, especially in a world that “at times becomes barren of life and love.”
Using the Gospel account of Jesus teaching the ‘Our
Father,’ the pope stressed that forgiveness heals the
wounds often caused “by our weaknesses and our selfishness.” “There is a simple secret in order to heal
wounds and dissolve accusations: Do not end the day
without asking forgiveness from one another, without
making peace,” he said. By immediately asking for
forgiveness and forgiving others, the pope continued,
the family becomes stronger and creates a solid foundation that can withstand any difficulties that may
come.
In order to forgive, “you don’t need to make a great
speech; a caress is sufficient and it’s all over. But, do
not end the day in war.”

Protect them as they protect us. Defend us. Fill them,
