SACRAMENTS OF INITIATION
CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS follows the
restored rites of the ancient Catechumenate.
THE CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN
Age seven and older takes place in a community of
young inquirers who prepare for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist during the Octave of Easter.
THE BAPTISM OF INFANTS
Is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month (English)
and last Sunday of the month (Spanish),
except during Lent.
FROM THE PASTOR’S HAND
One advantage of assisting with the editing and proofreading of
the weekly bulletin is that with Fr. John away this week, it was left
up to me to figure out how to fill this space.
Next Sunday, November 22nd, the Church universal celebrates the
Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
(commonly known as Christ the King.) It is also the feast day of
St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians.
With this in mind, I would ask you to
offer prayers for the many volunteer musicians in the parish. Cantors, choristers
(young and old) instrumentalists and
their directors are heading into a particularly busy time of year when, in addition
to all the normal demands of life, their
already considerable sacrifice of time and
talent is intensified in preparation of the
new liturgical year and the upcoming
holidays.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING
Saturdays during 9:00 a.m. Mass and upon request.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Couples contemplating marriage should contact a
deacon or priest at least six months before their
desired wedding date.
SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS
Those interested in ministry as a priest, deacon, sister
or brother should contact a parish priest.
NEW CONFESSION SCHEDULE
Dear Saint Cecilia,
Inspire musicians to gladden the hearts of people
by filling the air with God's gift of music
and reminding them of the divine
Musician who created all beauty.
Amen.
Richard Clawson
Director of Liturgy and Music
OUR ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE is Monday, November 30, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Father
John and Father Rey will have the assistance
of many neighboring priests. Plan now to
make this night an important part of your
preparation for Christmas.
+
Beginning Saturday, December 5
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated
Every Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
POPE FRANCIS’ NOVEMBER PRAYER INTENTIONS
+
Hence Confessions will no longer be at 11:00 a.m.
This change facilitates needed time for
Weddings, Baptisms, and Funerals on Saturdays.
Dialogue: That we may be open to personal encounter and
dialogue with all, even those whose convictions differ from
our own. Pastors: That pastors of the Church, with profound love for their flocks, may accompany them and enliven their hope.

NOV 15, 2015
We know we must give an account of our stewardship of God’s
blessings to us. For those who have embraced Christian stewardship as a way of life and a witness of their discipleship in Christ to
build God’s kingdom on earth, it will be a time of great joy and
celebration of life eternal with God. If the end occurred today,
would our stewardship allow us to be counted among God’s elect?

THE SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEK is for the
Catholic Campaign for Human Development. For over
46.5 million Americans, there is a thin line between eviction and home, between hunger and health, between
unemployment and work, between anxiety and stability.
This line is known as the Poverty Line—for a family of
four, that’s an income of just $23,283 a year. The Campaign for Human Development is dedicated to breaking
the cycle of poverty by funding community programs that
encourage independence. Please donate prayerfully and
generously. Thank you.
WITH THE YEAR’S END APPROACHING, there are
opportunities for you to be tax-wise in your charitable
giving. A cash gift to St. Lawrence of any amount will
provide an income tax deduction for this year. A gift of
stock or real estate avoids capital gains tax on the sale
of appreciated assets and provides a charitable deduction. For information about giving strategies that can provide additional tax savings and cash flow, contact Diane
Duquette, Director of Gift Planning, The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia, [email protected] or 404497-9440.
