World Day of Prayer is observed today, also known as "Good
Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill
the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send
laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that
young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's
call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of
apostolic life or secular institutes. You can find many resources to
promote a culture of vocations on the USCCB Vocations webpage

Sunday, April 26
All are invited to celebrate Children’s Day after
the 11:00 and 1:30 masses. Proceeds to benefit the
“Renew All Things in Christ” Campaign. Games
for the children are FREE, fun and fellowship are
FREE, tickets for food are $1 each.
First Friday - May 1
Our special hour of prayer is the 11:30 a.m. Mass
followed by continuous adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament, ending before the 8:30 a.m. Mass on
Saturday, May 2. Please sign up in the Gathering
Area to spend an hour with our Lord.
Monday, May 4
6:30-7:30 p.m.
Please join us for a planning meeting for this
summer’s Vacation Bible School. All adults (ages 18 and older)
who would be interested in helping are needed to attend. The
dates of the program are June 15-19. There is plenty of work to
be done and many hands are needed.

May 10-14
Our parish mission this year will be during this season
of Easter with a special focus on mercy. During the
mission, Fr. Thomas will encourage and challenge the
parish community to make a stronger, deeper
commitment to Christ, His Church and the Sacraments.
Among the topics he will speak on are:
• The Holy Blessed Sacrament
• The Blessed Virgin Mary
• The Mercy of God
• The Ten Commandments and the Angels and Saints

ultrasound screenings on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th;

April 29- Edge Night: Operation Body & Soul
The goal of this Edge Night is for the middle
school youth to understand the sacredness of the
human body, which incorporates the Corporal
Work of Mercy to bury the dead. Although
decisions about burial and funerals are left to
adults, there are practical ways middle school
youth can practice this work of mercy.
May 2- Super Saturday: MESStival Social All
current Edge 6th-8th Graders are encourage to invite
friends out to our end of year social! Students will
be broken into teams to participate in a series of
MESSY Events! There is no cost however preregistration is needed by April 29!
April 26- Life Night: Totally Given This Life
Night examines the Sacraments at the Service of
Communion – Holy Matrimony and Holy Orders,
and it provides teenagers with an understanding of
how these two sacraments build up the Church.
Teenagers are challenged to pray for those that have
received the Sacraments of Matrimony and Holy
Orders.
The 2015-2016 Parent-Candidate Confirmation
Orientation will take place Sunday May 3 at
6:15 pm. All candidates MUST attend this
meeting with either their parent/guardian. This
orientation is open to all high school students who
have successfully completed at least 1 year of high
school level faith formation/Life Teen. Please
contact the youth office with any questions.

Parish Council of Catholic Women
(PCCW)

The purpose of the PCCW is to support,
empower and educate all Catholic Women in
spirituality, leadership and service, responding with
Gospel values to the needs of the Church and Society.
They provide activities for women, support for the
pastor, parish activities and assistance to local charities.
All women of the parish, including non-Catholic wives of
parishioners, are members.

New Members: Parish Registration forms are available in the
Gathering Area. Please fill out & return to the Office. Newcomers to
the parish are welcomed quarterly by parish leaders at a reception
after the 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Bautizar en San Pio X:La Iglesia Romana Católica require que cada
niño que es bautizado tenga por lo menos un padrino (a) catolico (a)
activo (a) el (la) cual pueda recibir comunión. La familia debe estar
regristrada en la parroquia y proveer certificado de nacimiento del niño
(a). El (los) padrino (s) fuera del Estado de Georgia ó registrados en
otra parroquia debe (n) proveer constancia de clases y/ó permiso de
su párroco. La preparación pre-bautismal es “obligatoria” primer y
segundo domingo del mes después de Misa. Celebracion de bautismo
cuarto sabado del mes a las 10:00am
Baptism: Baptism Request Forms are located in the
Gathering Area and must be turned in before taking the pre-baptism
class. Baptisms are scheduled after completing pre-baptism
catechesis.
Weddings: Contact a priest or deacon six months before the
wedding to begin preparation. Parish membership is required.
Diocesan guidelines apply.
Penance: Scheduled time is Saturday, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
Seasonal Penance Services are held during Advent and Lent. Other
special times are arranged by calling one of the priests.
Anointing of the sick: A priest is on call at any hour for
“EMERGENCY” sick calls. To contact a priest in an emergency,
follow the directions on our phone system.
Hospital/Homebound/Nursing Homes:
Pastoral staff members visit Rockdale Hospital daily. Eucharistic
Ministers bring communion to the homebound. Family members
should call the Parish Office to inform us about those who are ill.
Grief Support: Ministry of Consolation meets 1st and 3rd Mondays
of the month. Contact Marcy Borkowski-Glass for additional

Counseling: Catholic Charities Counseling Services, Atlanta offers
affordable, professional mental health counseling for children,
adolescents, parents, individuals, couples & families. For assistance
please call 404-920-7745.
Matrimonios: Contacte a un sacerdote seis meses antes del día de la boda
para iniciar la preparación pre-matrimonial. Uno de los requisitos es ser

Hospitales/Visitas a Enfermos/Anciantos: Diariamente tenemos
ministros visitando el hospital de Rockdale . Ministros Eucaristicos llevan

Bautizar en San Pio X: La Iglesia Romana Católica
require que cada niño que es bautizado tenga por lo menos
un padrino (a) católico (a) activo (a) el (la) cual pueda
recibir la comunión. La familia debe estar regristrada en la
parroquia y proveer certificado de nacimiento del niño (a).
El (los) padrino (s) fuera del Estado de Georgia ó
registrados en otra parroquia debe (n) proveer constancia de
clases y/ó permiso de su párroco.
Las clases para el mes de mayo será 3 y 10 de mayo.
