Ejiofor, and Anthony Hodgson who joined
the Knights of Columbus and received their
1st degrees on May 18. All three new
Knights are members of Council 6065. We
look forward to seeing Fr. Henry, Charles
and his wife Edith and Anthony and his
wife Emerita at many of our future events.
REBUILDING DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP
Meets for 9 weeks on Thursday evenings, beginning May 28Aug. 6, 7PM – 9PM in the Parish Library, Room #105. Group
provides a supportive environment for anyone adjusting to
divorce and journeying toward healing. Cost: $35 fee which
includes Rebuilding book. For more information or to register,

Safe Environment Training: June 4
The Knights are sponsoring a Safe Environment Training session for
Thursday, June 4, at 6 PM in the Parish Center (Room TBD) for members of the Knights of Columbus ONLY. This session will not substitute
for the Safe Environment Training requirement for those in other parish
ministries per the Diocesan Safe Environment Training Coordinator. All
Knights who have not received this training, or are in need of retraining,
are invited to attend. The session will last approximately one hour. For

Election of Officers: June 4
Election of Officers will take place at our June 4 business meeting. If you
are a 3rd or 4th degree Knight and are interested in running for office to
help guide our council for the next fraternal year beginning July 1, please
contact one of the trustees and make him aware of your wishes. All
officer positions are to be filled during this election. The initial slate of
candidates was announced at the May 7 meeting. Additional nominees
for every office can be made at the June meeting prior to the elections.
Meet and Greet Knight: June 9
Our Council is holding its monthly “Meet and Greet Knight” on Tuesday,
June 9 beginning at 5:30 PM. This fun event is held every second
Tuesday at Tino’s Two restaurant. All Knights, whether members of
Council 6065 or not, please attend and share this evening of camaraderie with your brother Knights.
After Mass Refreshments: June 13/14
The Knights are sponsoring refreshments after all Mass on June 13/14.
Please stop and say “hello”. Pick up a cup of coffee, a glass of punch
and a cookie on your way out of the Narthex. We are also assisting at
the Information Table in the Narthex.

Monthly Prayer Service for the Parish
June 11 at 7PM in the Chapel
Weekend retreat provides an atmosphere for individual
growth through prayer, inspiring presentations, and personal
reflection. It is also an opportunity to share with others in the
parish about the joys and challenges of living a Christian lifestyle in our family life, at work, with friends, and in society.
The Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Auxiliary are
sponsoring a monthly prayer service in the Chapel at
7PM for those in the parish who are ill, recovering from surgery
or for any other intention. All parishioners are invited to attend
and submit the names of those individuals for whom prayers are
requested. These names will be read during the service.
You need not be a member of the Knights of Columbus to
participate or to have your requests included. Please call Will Alt
at 972-423-9450 to add names to the list of those for whom
prayers are requested. You can add names just prior to the
service if you are in attendance.

En 2004, el entonces Papa Juan Pablo II bendijo
una custodia para usarse en los Estados Unidos.
Esta custodia fue diseñada para Adoración Eucarística y oración para vocaciones, y como
símbolo de la conexión entre la Eucaristía y
vocaciones sacerdotales. El Serra Club of North
Central Dallas ha facilitado esa custodia para

Information Night: June 1
All men who are interested in learning more
about the Knights of Columbus are invited to
attend an information night on Monday, June
1, at 7:30PM in the JPII Conference Room located in the Parish

practicing Catholic man at least 18 years old. This informal
presentation will last approximately one hour. Please call one of

Eucharist brought to rehabilitation hospital
Do you have a loved one in a rehabilitation
hospital who would like the Eucharist brought to
them? If they are in or going to a rehab hospital
in the Plano or Richardson area, we can do this.

Eucharistic Adoration
At St. Mark we have 24-hour Adoration each
Friday starting at 9AM and ending before
8:30AM mass on Saturday. There are also 2
hours of silent Adoration on Tuesdays from
7-9PM. Please join us.

AROUND THE DIOCESE
Special Monstrance at Adoration
Friday, June 12
In 2004 the then pope John Paul II blessed a monstrance for use in the United States. This Monstrance was designated for Eucharistic Adoration
for vocations as a symbol of the connection between the Eucharist and priestly vocations. The Serra club of North Central Dallas
has arranged to have this Monstrance at St. Mark in the main
sanctuary during Friday Adoration from 9AM, June 12, until 7:45
AM June 13. We are privileged to have this Monstrance. Please
plan to spend some time in adoration and in praying for vocations.

for a special intention, please contact the Parish

H.U.G.S (Humans United to Give and Share) Truck
The semi-annual Knight of Columbus collection of
household items is June 6 (9AM to 1PM), in the
Smyth Pastoral Center parking lot. Donated items
benefit Catholic Charities and the Crisis Pregnancy
Centers. Please begin saving furniture, household items, clothing
and baby items (no food, refrigerators, washers or dryers). This
year we have been advised that there is a special priority need
for new baby cribs (manufactured after 2010), and car seats. If
you cannot deliver the items, please call the Project Chairman,
Tom Stevens, at 972-578-7613 to arrange a pickup. NOTE:
Computers and related equipment cannot be accepted.
