THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT
Dear St. Francis Family,
If we have to read the life of Jesus according to
the four evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, they
all pictured out Jesus to be good, compassionate, loving,
caring, and forgiving Jesus, except for this single incident
in the gospel according to St. John where He was so upset, angry showing it to all in the temple, and it was the
“desecration; of the temple that made Him disappointed.
If Jesus were to drop by the parishes and Churches
in our present time, I believe that He will still be upset by
the way His Church is being desecrated by the weaknesses of the leaders that cause scandals among others.
This lent, God wants us to deepen our relationship
with Him. He doesn’t give up on us despite some failures
and imperfections happening in the Church. It has existed
in history with both ups and downs, but his presence will
never fail as He promised to St. Peter, “You are Peter, and
upon this rock, I will build my Church and the gates of
hell shall not prevail against it (Mt 16:18)
May we all have the zeal to respect and love for
God’s Church and His people by the way we regard each
one as image of God. If ever, we have lost our way from
Him because of our sins, let us always feel secure with
the welcoming embrace of the Church, where everyone
should feel the love and mercy of God. Amen.
Fr. Manny
Padre Manny
