“Sirvió Jacob por Raquel siete años; y le parecieron como
pocos días, porque la amaba” (Génesis 29:20).
“So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed
only a few days to him because of the love he had for her”
(Genesis 29:20).

acob había estado viajando durante mucho tiempo,
se sentía cansado y sediento, así que, cuando vio
un pozo donde le daban de beber agua al ganado se
acercó.
¿Conocen a Labán?, — ­
preguntó a unos hombres que
estaban cerca del pozo. Sí claro, —respondieron. Esa joven
que viene ahí es Raquel, hija de Labán.
Cuando Raquel llegó al pozo, Jacob la abrazó y la besó, y
le contó que él era hijo de Rebeca hermana de su padre, ella
corrió para darle la noticia a su padre. Labán recibió a Jacob
con agrado y le permitió quedarse con ellos. Un día Labán le
dijo: “No me parece justo que trabajes sin recibir pago, ¿cuál
será tu salario?” Labán tenía dos hijas, Lea la mayor y Raquel la
menor de la cual Jacob se había enamorado. “Trabajaré para ti
siete años si me das a Raquel como esposa”, le respondió Jacob.
—Eso me parece un arreglo muy bueno. —le dijo Labán.
Jacob comenzó a trabajar con más entusiasmo porque estaba
enamorado de Raquel y los siete años se le pasaron rápido.
El día de la boda Jacob esperaba que le entregaran a Raquel
pero Labán lo engañó y le entregó a Lea la hermana mayor.
Jacob le reclamó a Labán por el engaño pero no se podía hacer
nada, tenía que trabajar otros siete años por su amada Raquel.
Después de catorce años Jacob y Raquel se casaron. Jacob
sirvió con paciencia por Raquel porque la amaba.

servicio es una de las virtudes que te identifica
como hijo de Dios, Jesús se caracterizó por el
servicio a los demás y sus seguidores también
deben imitarlo. Él dijo que si alguien quería
ser grande debía servir a los demás. Hacerlo
no es fácil requiere de paciencia y amor
de lo contrario se convierte en una
carga que puede llenar el
corazón de amargura.

acob had been travelling for a long time. He was
tired and thirsty, so when he saw a well where people
gave water to their herds, he walked towards it.
“Do you know Laban?” he asked some men who were
standing near the well. “Yes, of course,” they replied. “That
woman who is coming is Rachel, Laban’s daughter.”
When Rachel came to the well, he hugged and kissed her,
telling her that he was the son of Rebecca, her father’s
sister; she ran to tell her father. Laban received him
graciously and allowed him to stay there. One day Laban
said to Jacob, “It seems unfair that you should work without
receiving payment. What should your salary be?” Laban
had two daughters, Leah was the oldest, and Rachel was the
youngest, whom Jacob had fallen in love with. “I will work
for you seven years if you give me Rachel as a wife,” Jacob
replied. “This seems like a good arrangement,” Laban told
him. Jacob began to work with more enthusiasm because
he was in love with Rachel and seven years went by very
quickly. The day of the wedding, Jacob expected Laban to
give him Rachel, but Laban deceived him and he gave him
Leah instead, the older sister. Jacob protested to Laban, but
there was nothing he could do except work another seven
years for his beloved. After fourteen years, Jacob and Rachel
were married. Jacob served patiently for Rachel because he
loved her.

Apply this
to your life: Most people do not
like being told to do something because
they prefer for someone else to serve them
instead of serving others. Service is one of the
virtues that identify you as a child of God. Jesus
was characterized by His service to others, and
His followers should also imitate Him. He told
them that if someone wants to be great then
they should serve others. This is not easy to
do, it requires patience and love; on the
contrary it can turn into an obligation
which can fill your heart with
bitterness.

tendrás el dinero completo para lo que quieres. ¿Qué debes hacer?
