Free Bible Study:
the Book of Exodus
One cannot overstate the importance of the Book of
Exodus in the development of our faith. In fact, without
the escape of the ancient Hebrews from Egypt, there
would not have been a Book of Exodus. And without the
Book of Exodus, there would not have been a Bible.
Esther Herrera and Rey Genaldo, graduates of the
Catholic Bible Institute, will once again hold Saturday Bible Study sessions, and this time on the Book of Exodus,
starting on Saturday, January 9. Each session starts at
8:45 a.m. and ends at 11:15 a.m. Hospitality starts at
8:30 a.m.
Please join us. Reserve your space by calling Rey
Genaldo at 714-872-2278, or send an email to
[email protected].

Peregrinación a
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
durante
Jubileo Extraordinario

Pilgrimage to
Our Lady of Guadalupe
during Extraordinary
Jubilee of Mercy
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is one of the
pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Orange for
this Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. How can
one make a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe? A great way is to participate in one
of our regularly scheduled Masses, Confessions or other worship events during the jubilee year. Or you can simply come to Our Lady of Guadalupe when the church is open during the day and do
your own pilgrimage of prayers and meditation in a way
that meets your specific spiritual needs. However you
choose to make your pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe, we hope and pray that you will find your journey to
be a reflective and prayerful time to connect more deeply
with the love and mercy of God, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit. God is our Merciful Father – and this is a time of
remembering that truth and receiving it more deeply.

Jubilee Year of Mercy
The Epiphany of the Lord
In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Epiphany
celebrates God’s mercy shining on the magi from a guiding star. Their kingdoms were
far from Jerusalem, their religions far from
God’s covenant with Israel. At first the star
led the magi to Jerusalem, where they
could “recalculate” their quest with the help
of God’s own “GPS,” the Jewish scriptures.
How challenging and humbling for the magi
to discover that they would find the world’s
Messiah not in a palace but with a poor couple in an
insignificant village. That’s where God’s mercy, shining
in the star, led the magi to worship Jesus, the Prince of
Peace. Today the magi invite us to “recalculate” our
life’s journey during this Jubilee Year—to follow the star
of God’s mercy along the way of humble love, to discover a renewed personal relationship with Jesus ourselves
and so become “guiding stars” leading other seekers to
find Jesus, too.

Small Groups are where our great big church becomes a great small church. It’s the place to go to grow,
to be known, loved, and cared for. In Small Groups members discuss what God’s Word says on a topic and approach it through the issues and experiences of their daily
lives. People are challenged to be authentic and accountable about what’s really going on in their lives in a safe
and supportive place. At OLG Small Groups, we share
life, build relationships and pray
together. Join us. Contact: Nick
