We will celebrate a Novena (9) Masses for all our
faithful departed loved ones, beginning today Sunday,
November 2nd, “All Souls Day.” We remember and
honor all our faithful departed loved ones, especially
those listed below who were buried from St. Teresa
Church since last year’s All Souls’ Day. 2013:

A weekly Bible Study in English continues on
Wednesday, November 5th at 8:40 am (after the 8:00
am Mass) in the Parish Center (rectory basement). No
fee, no firm commitment - come when you can. Msgr.

FIRST FRIDAYS
Friday, November 7th, and every month on the first
Friday of the month, we will pray a "Holy Hour" after
the 8 am Mass (in English) and at 8 pm (in Spanish).
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction
will be part of the Holy Hour. Join us to worship and
adore the Lord!
ALL SAINTS - ALL SOULS
REMEMBERING OUR DEAD
The feast of All Saints (Nov 1) and its companion All
Souls (Nov 2) celebrate the ancient Christian belief in
life after death. As early as the 4th century, Christians
revered the martyrs whose death for Christ, it was
believed, assured them of heaven. By the 9th century,
November 1 was established as the feast for All Saints.
But what of Christians who did not have a heroic death
for the faith or live lives of extraordinary virtue? The
Church teaches that after death, most Christian souls
undergo a time of purgatory, a purification necessary to
remove the effects of sin so that a soul can be fully
united with God. Our prayer for the souls undergoing
this purification “is capable not only of helping them,
but also of making their intercession for us
effective” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #958).
During each Mass we offer prayers for the dead, just as
we ask the intercession of the saints.
Catholics venerate the saints as examples of how men
and women can be transformed by faith. The saints can
also intercede for us with God. According to the
Catechism, the saints’ intercession is their most exalted
service to God’s plan. We can and should ask them to
intercede for us and for the whole world” (#2683).
ALTAR SERVERS
All active altar servers are reminded of the “Pizza and
Popcorn” luncheon this Saturday, November 8th at 1:15
pm in the auditorium. Bring your appetite!
INVITING NEW CHOIR MEMBERS
Inviting new choir members who are available to sing
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Rehearsals are held
Saturday afternoons at 3:30 pm.
NEW BOILER IN PROGRESS
The old church boiler has been removed over the past
couple weeks and the new one is being installed. We
are grateful to all who made this possible through your
generous donations. Thank you for your patience during this process, and we ask forgiveness for any inconvenience that has occurred.
THANKSGIVING MASS
We will celebrate a Special bi-lingual
Mass on Thanksgiving morning, November 27th at 9 am. All are invited to bring
canned food for the needy. This will be
brought to the altar during Mass. We
hope you will be able to join us in giving
thanks to God for all blessings. (There is
no 8 am mass on Thanksgiving Day)

PRIMEROS VIERNES
Viernes, 7 de noviembre, y cada primer viernes del

TODAS LAS ALMAS
Vamos a celebrar una Novena (9) misas para todos
nuestros fieles difuntos queridos, comenzando este
domingo, 2 de noviembre, "Día de los difuntos". Sobres "Día de los difuntos" especiales están disponibles
en la Iglesia.
ESTUDIO BIBLICO LOS SABADOS
A los padres que traen a sus hijos al catecismo ya no
tienen que regresar a sus hogares y volver a recogerlos
sino le brindamos una oportunidad de acrecentar su Fe
aprendiendo mas acerca de la palabra de Dios compartiendo una experiencia única en el Señor Jesús y aprendiendo con la Biblia, con el Diacono Martin. Todos los
sábados, en el centro parroquial desde las 11:30 am
hasta la 1:00 pm.
NUEVA BOILA EN PROGRESO
Se ha eliminado la caldera vieja de la iglesia durante
las últimas semanas y se va a instalar uno nuevo. Estamos muy agradecidos a todos los que hicieron esto posible a través de sus generosas donaciones. Gracias por
su paciencia durante este proceso, y le pedimos perdón
por las molestias que se ha producido.
MONAGUILLOS
Todos los servidores del altar activo se recordaron el
almuerzo de "Pizza y Popcorn" este sábado, 8 de Noviembre a las 1:15 en el auditorio. Trae tu apetito!

Para poder procesar todos los arreglos relacionados con la recepción de los Sacramentos que se
realizaran en otros países o parroquias, obtener
cartas de recomendación, cartas de conocimiento,
certificados para poder ser padrinos y otros documentos que tengan propósitos religiosos, legal o
de trabajo, se requiere que quienes pidan esos documentos estén registrados como miembros activos de la parroquia.

octubre. Cada persona puede pedir no mas de doce (12)
Misas.

TODOS LOS SANTOS - TODAS LAS ALMAS
RECORDAR A NUESTROS MUERTOS
La fiesta de todos los Santos (1 de Nov) y su compañero
de todas las almas (2 de Nov) celebran la antigua creencia
cristiana en la vida después de la muerte. Tan pronto
como el siglo IV, los cristianos reverenciaban a los
mártires cuya muerte por Cristo, se creía, aseguró del
cielo. Por el siglo IX, el 1 de noviembre fue establecido
como la fiesta de todos los Santos.
Pero ¿qué hay de los cristianos que no tenían una muerte
heroica por la fe ni vivían vidas de extraordinaria virtud?
La Iglesia enseña que después de la muerte, las almas más
cristianas se someten a un tiempo de purgatorio, una
purificación necesaria para eliminar los efectos del
pecado para que un alma puede estar totalmente Unido
con Dios. Nuestra oración por las almas que experimentan
esta purificación "es capaz no sólo de ayudar a ellos, sino
también de hacer eficaz su intercesión por
nosotros" (Catecismo de la iglesia católica, #958). En
cada Misa ofrecemos oraciones por los muertos, al igual
que pedimos la intercesión de los Santos.
Los católicos veneran a los Santos como ejemplos de
cómo los hombres y las mujeres pueden transformarse por
la fe. Los Santos pueden también interceder por nosotros
con Dios. Según el Catecismo, intercesión de los
Santos es su servicio más exaltado al plan de Dios.
Puede y debe pedirles que intercedan por nosotros y
por todo el mundo"(#2683).
