Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday Message
GET READY
The Letters of Paul to the Thessalonians are among his earliest writings,
and are driven by his belief and the belief of the entire early Christian community that the return of Christ was imminent. Therefore, to devote time or attention to anything else was foolish.
As time progressed, this fervor receded a bit. Today
we may wonder, when we hear these readings
about the coming end-times, if we should take them
to heart. What should we do when we hear that the
day of the Lord will come upon us “like a thief at
night”? (1 Thessalonians 5:2) Does this mean we
are to stop our long-range goal-setting, get rid of our
yearly calendars and planners, or stop putting money in the college education fund? Of course not.
What it does mean is that we need to change our
lives, living like children of the light and illuminating
the world around us with the light of the gospel.
Then, on that day, when the details of our daily living
become unimportant, we will be ready to find our
peace and security in Christ Jesus. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
Every Sunday
during the 9:00 AM &
11 AM Masses, all
children, ages 3 to
grade 5, are invited
to the front of church. The children are led to Roughan
Hall to hear the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Each
week the Scripture readings are geared towards their
level of understanding. Every child is welcome in this
fun and unique atmosphere!

tiempo o atención a otras cosas.

FLUTE LESSONS
RITCHIE GONZALEZ

Now accepting new students!
Why should students take private lessons?
Well, there are many different reasons, but I think the biggest is
the personal attention each student receives. A private lesson is
dedicated to your child and your child only. I can spend time
working on the skills each child needs to improve. With
beginners or students struggling to keep up in school I can take
the time to explain everything, reinforcing their skills. For
advanced students I can take beyond the notes into true
artistry. For students lacking inspiration I can create a lesson
with music they want to play to make it fun. I love lighting the
way for new students, seeing advanced students blossom into
true musicians and inspiring those that just need to be inspired.
This is what makes teaching rewarding for me.
CLASES PARTICULARES: FLAUTA
& FLAUTA DULCE
¡Aceptando nuevos estudiantes!

Inform School Staff About Your
Children’s Health Issues
“Back-to-school does not have to mean back-to-worrying.
Though safety inside school is ultimately the responsibility of
the principal and school staff, parents can take a few basic
steps to ensure a safe school experience.” Inform school
staff about health and emotional concerns. Whether your
child has a food allergy, a physical disability, or has been
subject to bullying, make sure to keep your child's teachers
and principal in the loop. For more information, please visit
http://www.scholastic.com/parents/resources/article/parentteacher-partnerships/6-rules-school-safety.
http://www.scholastic.com/parents/resources/article/parentteacher-partnerships/6-rules-school-safety.
