It has been said many times over and in a variety of ways that stewardship is based upon gratitude. Gratitude for what, we might ask?
For the variety of blessings each of us receives, understanding full
well that each of us is gifted in different ways and perhaps even in
different measures. However, there is one gift in which we all share
equally.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that
everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have
eternal life.” (John 3:16) It is difficult for us to even conceive of the
magnitude of that multifaceted gift, from God’s unconditional love
for us to the extraordinary gift of his son Jesus to the fabulous gift
of everlasting life.
Stewardship calls us to appreciate all of God’s gifts, but if we only
focus on the gifts listed above, our gratitude should know no
bounds. Pope Francis has said, “God never gives someone a gift
they are not capable of receiving. We all have the ability to understand and receive God’s gifts.” We need to recognize God’s gifts and
especially during our preparations for Easter, find ways to show and
live out our gratitude. Read more at www.thecatholicsteward.com.

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/
Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
My sister moved to Rhode Island about
10 years ago. I went to visit her and as
we were talking she would throw in the
word “wicked” every so often. “Wicked”
in Rhode Island apparently means
something different than “wicked” in the
scriptures, because she used it to describe
something good: “This is a wicked meal.”
or “Your jacket is wicked.” or simply
“Wicked!” In this aspect I want to be
“wicked,” but I don’t think Jesus was
from Rhode Island.
MASS INTENTIONS/INTENCIONES
Jesus was asking us to choose the light.
It is in the darkness that we do “wicked”
things. When we choose Christ we are
choosing to live in the light. Others may
also be attracted to the light because of our actions. Let us be followers of Jesus, the Light of the World.

Mi hermana se mudó a Rhode Island hace unos 10 años. Fui a
Mundo.

Making a choice – living in the light or in darkness
Jesus is God’s gift to us. We have a choice to believe in
him….or not. Our choice determines the judgment on our
life and our whole life is about working out that verdict.
By choosing Christ above all things, by living in his light,
we conform ourselves to him and cooperate in God’s good
works.
