Some Parish Prayer Opportunities
during Lent
Stations of the Cross in English will be Friday Mornings following the 9:00 AM Mass. Stations of the Cross in
Spanish will take place every Thursday night at 7:30 PM. A
different Deacon of the Diocese of Brooklyn will preach
each week in Spanish.
A HOLY HOUR with Benediction will take place in
English every Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
THE BLESSED SACRAMENT IS EXPOSED
for your adoration every Thursday from 9:30 AM until
7:30 PM, concluding with the Rosary in Spanish and
Benediction.
Confessions are heard every Saturday from 3:30 until
4:30 PM. If you can’t make it on Saturdays, you need only
call the rectory, 718-849-4048, for a special appointment.
On Monday, March 30th, Confessions will be heard in
every Church in Brooklyn and Queens, including St. Benedict Joseph Labre, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

LISTEN AND FOLLOW
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” And
listen they did. From that moment on, Peter,
James, and John were ardent followers, forsaking everything to follow in their Master’s footsteps. Like the psalmist crying, “O Lord, I am
your servant,” the three disciples committed
themselves to lives of incredible hardship and
indescribable joy. After that day on the mountain, they never again wavered in their chosen
vocation.
Though our tests may not be as severe as
Abraham’s and our peak experiences not as
dramatic as the Transfiguration, we all face the
daily challenges of walking “before the Lord
in the land of the living.” As we follow our
varied calls to love and serve, let’s be comforted by Paul’s reminder to the Romans: “If God
is for us, who can be against us?”

ESCUCHA Y SIGUE
“Este es mi Hijo amado; escúchenlo”. Y sí
que lo escucharon. Desde ese momento, Pedro,
Santiago y Juan fueron sus ardientes seguidores,
desechándolo todo para seguir las huellas del
Maestro. Tal como proclama el salmista,
“Señor, he aquí tu servidor”, los tres discípulos
se comprometieron a vidas de increíbles penurias e indescriptible gozo. Después de ese día en
la montaña, nunca más dudaron de la vocación
escogida.
Aunque nuestras pruebas no sean tan severas
como la de Abraham, ni nuestros momentos sublimes tan dramáticos como la Transfiguración,
todos confrontamos los retos cotidianos de caminar “en presencia del Señor en el país de la
vida”. Mientras seguimos nuestros diversos llamados a amar y servir, seamos confortados por
lo que Pablo les recuerda a los romanos: “Si
Dios está a nuestro favor, ¿quién estará en contra nuestra?”

Adoration of the Most
Blessed Sacrament
It is a privilege for us to be able to
adore the Lord in our Church.
Every Thursday, the Eucharist is
exposed after the 9:00 a.m. Mass
and kept on the Altar until 7:30
p.m. when the Charismatic Prayer
Group begins in Spanish. Come
and spend some time worshiping
Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
MASSES FOR THE YEAR 2015
The Book to Register Masses is available from 9:30am for
your love ones whether deceased or living for the year 2015.
The stipend for an announced Mass is $15. We are not always
able to accommodate every request, but we will try to be fair
and responsive to all our parishioners.

from you, Lord, are meant to be shared. In
faith I place my gift at the altar, so I may be a
good steward of my time, talent and treasure,
enabling my Parish to continue building
God’s Kingdom in my neighborhood, in my
family and in my life. Amen
