Welcome to St. Patrick's Catholic Church!
We are a stewardship community ever attempting to grow in Jesus Christ by fidelity
to the incomparable means he gives us through the Catholic Church.
NEWCOMERS, please register at the office. You are most welcome and we want to meet you!
Sr. Margaret Proskovec, vice chancellor of the Grand Island
Diocese, will share a fascinating two part teaching from 7 –
8:30 p.m. on February 4th and 5th on The Seven Principles
of Catholic Social Justice Teaching. Sr Margaret is a
talented artist and uses art from different cultures and times
to provide a beautiful and thought provoking teaching of
the Principles. All are welcome to attend this teaching .
There is no cost to attend. Bring a friend.
Monthly Anointing Mass which offers the Sacrament of the Sick
is this Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 12 noon. Lunch will follow in the
Parish Hall for those who wish to join.
Lent is only 18 days from now! During this holy season we are
again offering the prayer opportunity of daily Adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament. Weekday adoration is from 6 am until 8 pm.
Saturday and Sunday also offer times during the day. If you would
like to make a commitment to one hour per week (just 6 hours for
all of Lent!) we have sign-up sheets available in the main gathering
area. Plan now to let this be a season of renewal and grace.
Without A Spouse Valentine party will be Sunday February 8 at
1:00 pm at St. Patrick’s parish hall. Please bring a snack to share.
Plans are to play bingo. We will have prizes for the winners.
Drinks will be furnished. There will also be Valentine sacks for
everyone so please bring a valentine to put in each sack. You can
pick up the valentines like the school kids do in exchanges with
each other. Put your name on the valentine so everyone knows
who it came from and then put them in the sacks that Glenna will
make.

A note from Fr. Jim: This Sunday I depart for a 12
day pilgrimage to the Holy Land. There will be 19 of
us who will travel to Jordan, the Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and other biblical sites. I am
pleased that a number of parishioners, including Sr.
Mary Chamberlain, will get to join us. Please know that
I will keep our parish in my prayers – especially our
daily masses. Please keep us in your prayers. We return on Saturday, Feb. 14.

We also welcome back Fr. Mike from his month-long
visit home to India. Be gentle to him as he recovers
from jetlag.
This month the annual Bishop’s Diocesan Appeal, “Living Our
Faith, Sharing Our Gifts…Together” begins. The Diocesan
Appeal 2015 will fund ministries throughout central and
western Nebraska. This is a wonderful opportunity to assess our stewardship of time, talent and treasure. All families are asked to discern their gifts and participate according to what they have received. In order for St. Pat’s to
reach its goal – all families are asked to consider a gift of
at least 10% over their annual parish contribution. This may
be a one-time gift or a pledge, payable over eight months.
Your contribution to the Diocesan Stewardship Appeal may
also be made online at www.gidiocese.org. Any money that is
raised over our goal may stay in our parish. The Diocesan
Appeal Sunday is the weekend of February 14/15. You will
receive information in the mail detailing this appeal. The
mailing includes a letter from Bishop Dendinger, a brochure
and a pledge envelope to be used on the Appeal Weekend.
Our retiring Bishop is asking us to sit down and evaluate our
circumstances. How can I contribute and support the many
ministries of our diocese? Christ calls us to make a difference where we are able.
Monthly Mass to Pray for Vocations is this Tuesday,
Feb. 3, at 5:15 pm here at St. Pats. The North Platte
Area Serra Club will meet immediately after this
liturgy.
Cindy will be scheduling liturgical ministries
for 2/21 - 5/10. If there are any dates you
will be unavailable please let her know at
[email protected] by 2/07/15.

STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL PRAYER
Gracious God, I come to you in thanksgiving, knowing that all I am and all that I have is a gift from you.
In faith and love, help me to do your will. I am listening, dear Lord.
Speak your words into the depth of my soul, that I may hear you clearly.
I offer to you all the areas of my life, whether it be at home, at work,
or at school - to be patient, to be merciful, to be generous, to be holy.
Give me the wisdom and insight to understand your will for me and the fervor to fulfill my good intentions.
I offer my gifts of time, talent and possessions to you as a true act of faith, to reflect my love for you and my neighbor.
Help me to reach out to others as you my God have reached out to me.
In your holy name we pray. Amen

Moses told the people, “The Lord will raise up for you a
prophet like me from among your own kinsmen.” God
still provides among His people the gifts and talents
necessary to continue the work of His Church. What
gifts are yours to share?
