The Gospel speaks of a battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. Jesus has defeated Satan through
his cross and resurrection.
Today’s Readings
First Reading: Deuteronomy 18:15-20
The Lord will raise up a great prophet; we are to listen to his words.
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 7:32-35
Paul expects Christ’s return soon and so urges his congregation to give their undivided attention to the Lord.
Gospel: Mark 1:21-28
Jesus exorcises a demon in the synagogue as part of his campaign to overcome the kingdom of Satan.

The Trinity
Today marks the beginning of Catholic Schools’ Week
(CSW) in BC. The theme this year is Catholic Schools
Live the Joy of the Gospel.
For those who are not aware, there are 6 Catholic
Schools in the Diocese, educating 1700 students.
Thank you to all who have and are prayerfully and
financially supporting our Catholic schools.
Our schools are a blessing to the diocese and the
mission of Catholic Education!
This week also marks the beginning of registration time
for the 2015-16 school year for those communities that
have a Catholic school.
All students are encouraged to wear their uniforms
for Masses next weekend, Feb 7 & 8.

Course is presented by Dr Les McKeown here in Sacred
Heart Parish, every Thurs from Feb 5 to Mar 5, 7:00pm to Catholic Schools Week is our annual Open House,
