Scripture reveals the meaning of the church
Destiny Williams
Director of
Youth Ministry
The church finds its meaning spelled out many time in scripture. One passage that has obvious implications for the church
when you think about it is Ecclesiastes 4:9-17;
Elizabeth Davis
Director of Children’s
Ministry
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for
their work! If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But
pity the man who has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie
down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep
warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three stands is not easily broken.”
Julie Garcia

Choir

(Youth)
Does that not say much about the importance of church membership? Does that not clearly spell out the mandate to understand our linkage and interdependence as humans? Does it not
offer us hope for strength to cope, survive, and be victorious in
life? I think so and I offer it to you for your reflection and meditation. A thread alone is easily broken but twine three threads
together and see how strong the strand becomes.
The church strengthens your life and faith by binding you to
others and others to you. “two are better than one.”
The oft quoted statement of Jesus, “where two or three are
gathered, there am I in their midst,” is appropriate also. Think
on these passages.

FOOD MINISTRY
The food focus item for February
is canned meats (Chili, Tuna,
Stew), canned vegetables or
canned fruit. As always, any other
non-perishable food item or hygiene item is always appreciated.
For the Salem Clothes Closet
In February MPC is collecting coats and warm blankets for the
Salem Baptist Church Clothes Closet.
The Salem Clothes Closet, is run entirely by the members of Salem,
providing a place for the community to acquire quality clothing, free of
charge, for all members of their family. Access to the Clothes Closet is
based upon referrals from Helping in His Name Food Pantry, Connecting Henry, Salem Baptist Church, and local schools.
Please place your donations of coats and blankets in the collection bin in the Anchor hallway throughout February.
Thanks for your help in keeping our neighbors warm!
Robbie’s Readers
The Kitchen Class copes all
will continue to support
“Robbie’s Readers” with used books. We
welcome books that your children have outgrown. These books are greatly appreciated,
as new teachers build their classroom libraries to help some less fortunate children.
These are young readers ages 5-8 years old.
Thank you all for your help!
