IDENTIFICATION
E-learning modules shall include the following information in the lead-in or lead-out:
•
“Funding provided by an award from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at
the University of Nebraska Medical Center”
•
Identification of UNMC sole ownership.
BRANDING
The University of Nebraska Medical Center brand is our identity. Proper usage and consistency
ensure the integrity of our brand message.
•
Adherence to UNMC branding guidelines is required: brandwise.unmc.edu/unmc
•
Presentations and modules shall have a full screen approved UNMC logo on the lead-in and
lead-out.
•
Video and still photographs shall feature individuals wearing a UNMC campus icon pin. If
shown in a lab coat, the lab coat should have either the UNMC campus icon or the UNMC
logo.

E-LEARNING ACCESSIBILITY
•
Universal design is recommend which includes audio, video and closed captions that provide
all individuals equal opportunities to learn. Refer to the E-Learning Checklist for Accessibility
Requirements on the e-learning website.
MODULE INSTRUCTIONS
•
Module Introduction: A compelling introduction is needed to “hook” or engage learners.
•
At the beginning of the module, provide instructions for how learners are to proceed through
the learning including an estimated time to complete the module. Research supports 15
minutes or less per module/interaction.
•
Use clear and measurable learning objectives using appropriate verbs (see Bloom’s revised
taxonomy). Content, interactive activities, and imbedded quizzes should tie directly to a
learning objective.
•
Consider creative and innovative ways to engage students in the learning process through
interactivity with content, strategic cognitive questioning, or other activities to promote
retention and recall of information.
•
Indicate required add-ons/plug-ins and direct links to downloadable resources.
•
Consider providing a printable study guide as an extended learning modality.
PROGRESS MEETING
•
Submit a written progress report and meet with E-Learning Instructional Designer regarding
project progress by March 6, 2015.
COMPLETED MODULE SUBMISSION
•
HTML5 or MP4 are the preferred formats for final submission. Alternate file formats maybe
discussed.
•
Completed modules are distributed to the E-Learning Steering Committee via a Blackboard
Course. A team of reviewers with offer feedback on your final work.
•
