The office of the High Commissioner for refugees in Rabat
is recruiting an RSD Assistant LICA-4 – UNOPS contract
Post grade: LICA – 4 / Local Individual Contract Agreement – 4
Job title: RSD Assistant
Contract period: 10 months, the advertised position has the potential for one year
extension.
Expected starting date: 02/03/2015
Qualifications
Moroccan and/or Residents with valid legal permanent residency in Morocco.
Completion of the Secondary School with post secondary training/ certificate in International
Law, Political science or related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional working experience.
Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills to deal with asylum seekers and refugees of
different cultural and educational backgrounds.
Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel.
Fluency in French and English and working knowledge of Arabic.
The following tasks and responsibilities will be implemented under the direct supervision
of the RSD Officer:
1. Conduct preliminary RSD interview and preparation of preliminary RSD assessment reports to be
endorsed by the Refugee Status Determination Supervisor.
2. Remain up to date on Country of Origin Information (COI) of the asylum seekers; ensure the COI
data base in the office remain current by updating it regularly.
3. Respond to the queries of the asylum seekers/refugees in a timely manner.
4. Assist in providing counseling and guidance to asylum-seekers and refugees on Refugee Status
Determination procedures, rights and obligations.
5. Act as interpreter and translator when needed.
6. Any other responsibilities/functions deemed necessary or as delegated by the Head of the office /
RSD Supervisor in order to meet the level of the services in the organization.
