2015 is “Too much of a good thing…?”.

Last Thursday the 29th of January was the school round of the
Junior Speaking Contest. During this round two students were
selected who will represent our school at the Regional Round
taking place at the Alfrink College in Zoetermeer on March 5th.
The JSC is an annual event, hosted by the European Platform.
All tto-schools are invited to have their 2nd and 3rd year students
prepare a 3 minute speech on a given theme. The theme of 20142015 is “Too much of a good thing…?”.
B2a and A3a were given time in class to
prepare their speech. The teachers supported
the structure and presentation skills, but
students were in charge of coming up with
their own content to connect with the theme.
Together, the students covered a wide range
of topics related to the theme and to global
issues including: cars, healthy food, plastics,
technology, social media, power, success and population.
The finalists from B2a were Luna, Puck and Sem. A3a finalists were Maurits,
Mischa and Maaike.
The jury selected Luna and Mischa as the JSC
School Round winners to represent the
Schoonhovens College in the Regional
Round.
We are very proud of ALL of our B2a and A3a
students for their effort and excellent
results!
