The District
The District is a quasi-municipal political subdivision. Pueblo West is a
planned community with covenants, which are enforced by the
Committee of Architecture. A Board of 5 Directors - elected by the
qualified voters of Pueblo West - governs the District’s operations.
The District provides the following services: 1) Streets and Roads, 2)
Fire and Emergency Medical Services, 3) Parks and Recreation, 4)
Water/Wastewater systems, 5) Administrative services to support
the District operations. Pueblo West was conservatively estimated at
approximately 28,500 residents as of the 2010 Census.
The Ideal Candidate
PWMD is seeking a District Manager to oversee the operations of the
District. The selected candidate must be a forward thinker who can
hit the ground running.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written
communication skills. The new District Manager will be devoted to
cultivating new relationships and improving current relationships
throughout the District and the external community.
A creative thinker is sought who will be open to change and take
advantage of new opportunities. He or she must demonstrate skills
as a strategic planner who can analyze and assess programs, policies
and operational needs and successfully incorporate change as
needed. The selected candidate will be an innovative problem solver
who can define the problem, give clear direction, get people on
board and deliver results.
The ideal candidate would show examples of five to
eight years of progressively responsible experience
in the executive management of a public or private organization
and should have the equivalent to a Masters Degree from an
accredited college or university with major course work in Public
Administration, Business Administration, Political Science or
related field. Experience with water, land use, and economic
development desirable.
The Position
Under the direction of the Pueblo
West Metropolitan District Board of
Directors, the District Manager acts
as the highest administrative
authority
for
Pueblo
West
Metropolitan
District
and
is
responsible for the management of
all
departments,
operations,
jurisdiction, function and budget.
The District Manager is responsible
for ensuring that all policies, the
strategic plan and the budget of the
board are implemented.

Compensation
The annual salary for this position
is $85,000 - $110,000. Placement
within the range is dependent upon
the qualifications and experience of
the selected candidate.
Salary
increases are based on the Board
