Baptism: This important sign of initiation is celebrated in the community at
any one of the weekend Masses. Parents must complete the preparation
program (offered every other month). Please contact the church
office at least two months prior to your anticipated date for Baptism.
Marriage: This sacrament provides an opportunity for a couple to stand as a
sign of God’s love in the community. To this end, a period of preparation is
important and necessary.
Contact the church office
at least six months prior to
your proposed marriage
date to begin this process.
Anointing of the Sick: If
you are preparing for surgery
or hospitalization, this
sacrament can be celebrated
with you on any weekend at

pray with you at home or in
the hospital.
Mission Statement
With the Blessed Virgin Mary, the first disciple of Jesus Christ, as our example and patron, the mission of Queen of the Apostles Catholic
Church is to live and proclaim the Gospel entrusted to us.
We strive in our rich diversity to be a community of welcome and hospitality: one with the Risen Christ, each other, and the whole Church.
Through the Word of God and the life of the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist, we are empowered to engage in a variety of ministries
of service to the parish family and the communities where we live.
Our Weekly Tithe:

From the Pastor’s Desk...
Last weekend we welcomed Sister Dorothy and Sister Mary who travel
with the Circus and Traveling Show Ministry. I know most of you are
aware of this ministry because of my role as a "circus priest" but it is
good to see these women of faith who live full time on the road. Your
generosity to them was a testament to your charity. The second
collection was $5,036.00. As you know, this will assist in our work of
building lay leadership and continuing this ministry of presence in the
circuses of the U.S. "Thank you" is insignificant verbiage for the
gratitude I feel for your generosity. God bless you!
I am also grateful to those priests who have made themselves available
three Saturdays in a row so that I can be free to service three different
circuses that pass through the Carolinas in the first month of the new
season.
One other piece of circus news: last Saturday our teens invited teens
from the circus and hosted them for an afternoon of games, arcade
and laser tag (and pizza, too) with them. We picked up the circus
youth at the arena and reportedly everyone had a great time. Thanks
to all who participated. It was a meaningful encounter for these kids
who travel from place to place each week.
One additional youth program for our teens to keep in mind:
Catholic Heart Work Camp. This is an opportunity for a group of our
teens to join hundreds of other Catholic teens from around the U.S. for
a week of fellowship and service to those in need through organized
and supervised opportunities to work with the poor. We are aiming for
a week in July this year and I invite teens and parents to be aware of
the flyer and other information that will come your way to consider
CHWC this summer.
As you know we have begun to invite you to join us in small groups for
our Lenten Program entitled "Mercy." After a 12 minute DVD teaching
from me and an interview around an appropriate topic of mercy by one
of our Belmont Sisters of Mercy, we invite the groups to discuss a few
key questions to expand their own understanding of mercy. Join us as
we use the scriptures of Lent and the writings of Pope Francis to
explore this topic of faith.
Also this weekend we open our annual Diocesan Support
Appeal. Once more I ask you to prayerfully consider the
materials sent from the Bishop's Office, to view the DVD
and reflect on how you might be able to make a
commitment to assist us in meeting our parish goal.
Lent is also not too far down the road. Next weekend we
will make the Lenten schedule available to you so that you
can choose from there many different possibilities starting
with Ash Wednesday and ending with our celebration of
Holy Week.
Be blessed this week!
- Father Frank

mensaje y apliquémoslo a nuestra vida personal.
