A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
Our loved ones, who have stepped through the door of death,
are now at rest, free of all burdens. In going home to the Lord
they brought their love and concern for us with them. Death
cannot totally separate families; our love binds us together
forever.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of The Parish of the Holy Cross is to serve God by
sharing the Mystery of the Holy Trinity, the Love of the Father, the

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be
comforted.” The words of our Lord bring comfort as
we share our faith and our prayers with one another in
memory of those that have gone before us. November,
the month of All Souls, is a time for remembering those
loved ones who have gone to be with God. A special
Mass of Remembrance will be held on Saturday,
November 8th at 9:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church. We invite
all parishioners of the Parish of the Holy Cross to join us in this
special Mass.

Stewards Receive More Than They Give
“Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall
abide with him in love. Because grace and mercy are with his holy
ones, and his care is with the elect.” - WISDOM 3:9

Here’s the ironic thing about people who are generous. Those that
give freely and cheerfully do not do it to be rewarded. They do it to
show their love for God and their neighbors. Yet, because of their
generosity, they typically are given more than they gave away!
Collection Totals:
October 26th Offertory: $12,870.00

November 2, 2014 – The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls’ Day)
From the Pastor’s Desk….
November: The Month of All Saints and All Souls
It is hard to believe we are in the month of
November. It is getting darker earlier each day and it is
definitely colder as the heaters begin to crank in our homes.
To the surprise of many, November is my favorite month of the
year. I love the feel of November. The air is clean and crisp
and although it is chilly it is not too cold for a good walk or
even a round of golf. I love the way November begins and
ends. The month begins with those back to back feasts we
celebrated this weekend, All Saints and All Souls, and the
month ends with the celebration of Thanksgiving.
On All Saints Day we honor the many unnamed
saints who have touched our lives. My thoughts go directly to
my parents. I think of their love for each other and for our
family and of their great faith and love of the Church. On All
Souls Day we remember our loved ones who have entered into
eternal life. Our faith teaches us that through prayer we assist
those who have died so they may be purified and prepared to
meet the Lord. Prayer keeps us connected with our loved ones
who we will be reunited with when God calls us home.
The month of November ends with the Thanksgiving
Holiday. Thanksgiving is a truly family holiday where we take
time to give thanks to God for the many blessings in our lives.
As we begin the month of November take time to reflect on the
saints who have touched your lives, pray for the souls of your
deceased loved ones, and give thanks to God for the many
blessings received this year. Happy November!
Difuntos
God Bless you and your families,
Feliz Noviembre!

II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam;
now it was his turn. His 365 days in
Vietnam builds in torment until an
