JOB DESCRIPTION FOR HEAD GIRL TEAM
• Liaise with Dame Helen, the Senior Leadership Team and Sixth Form Team for
directions on responsibilities.
• Liaise with the Senior Prefects and School Prefects to pass on any relevant
instructions and ensure they are carried out.
• Supervision of the Main Hall in setting up assembly to include chairing the hall
and setting up ICT equipment.
• Assist the staff with ensuring an orderly entrance to and exit from assembly by
the rest of the school.
• Monitor and supervise the attendance of your prefect team to their individual
responsibilities.
• Speak directly to any individuals if they are not fulfilling roles and report back to
the Sixth Form Team if problems persist.
• Organise and coordinate meetings of the School Council.
• Arrange for a Senior Prefect (including Sports Captain and Music Lead) to
deputise should you be absent in assembly, or for any other duties as required.
• Assist with and attend school events to include Senior Speech Day, Open
Evenings, Parents Evenings and Options Evenings.
• Attendance at school events will include some public speaking duties.
• Coordinate the duties of the prefect team and other Sixth Form helpers at
events.
• Carry out other duties to include after school and evening events as required
by the Senior Leadership Team, Sixth Form Team and Head Girl Team.
• To be a role model for the Sixth Form and the younger girls.
• To be a point of contact for discussions between staff and students, and be
sympathetic to the views of others.
• Demonstrate commitment to the role throughout the period of office.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SENIOR PREFECTS
In addition to duties carried out by School Prefects:
Liaise with your assigned Head of Year for directions on responsibilities.
Liaise with your assigned school prefect team to pass on any relevant
instructions and ensure they are carried out.
Arrange rotas among the prefect team to supervise the Silent Study area, and
checking the common rooms at lunch time.
Visit and work with year 7 – 11 form / year groups as required, e.g. charity
events.
Supervision of the Careers Library as required.
Arrange printing of the daily bulletin.
Monitor and supervise the attendance of your school prefect team to their
individual assigned tutor groups and corridor duty.
Monitor and maintain stocks of consumables in the common rooms, and
discuss replacement of larger items with the Sixth Form team.
Speak directly to any individuals if they are not fulfilling roles and report back to
the Head Girl if problems persist.
Organise and coordinate meetings of the Sixth Form Council which should
meet once every half term under the direction of the Senior Prefects.
Liaise with the Head Girl and Deputies, to pass on information and instructions
to
the prefects in their team.
Stand in for Head Girl and Deputies in assembly and in supervising chairing
the
hall as necessary.
Assist with and attend school events to include Senior Speech Day, Open
Evenings, Parents Evenings and Options Evenings.
Carry out other duties to include after school and evening events as required
by the Senior Leadership Team, Sixth Form Team and Head Girl Team.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SCHOOL PREFECTS
• Arrange fund raising events to subsidise the cost of the Year 13 Leavers’
Dinner.
• Assist with induction activities and preparation for the incoming year 12, during
the summer and autumn terms, to include being present on Induction Day in
September, and Year 12 Induction days in July.
• Assist the Head Girl Team with the Year 7 Induction activities in July, to include
attendance at the Saturday treasure hunt.
• Carry out corridor duty and visit your assigned form group (Year 7 – 11) as
directed by the Senior Prefect responsible for your year group.
• Carry out duties as required by your assigned Head of Year (Year 7 – 13).
• Liaise with the Senior Prefects and Head Girl Team to receive instructions from
the Sixth Form Team and Senior Leadership Team.
• Arrange, plan and facilitate form time activities to take place jointly in year 12
and 13 forms.
• Assist the Senior Prefects with the organisation of Sixth Form Council.
• Assist the Sixth Form Team with monitoring the use of the Silent Study area,
e.g. silence, no food and drink, and the Sixth Form Common Room.
• Assist with and attend school events to include Senior Speech Day, Open
Evenings, Parents Evenings and Options Evenings.

In addition to duties carried out by School Prefects:
• Meet with Miss Bridges and music prefects regularly.
• Liaise with music prefects to pass on any relevant instructions and ensure they
are carried out, e.g. extra curricular music concerts and performances.
• Speak directly to any individuals if they are not fulfilling roles and report back to
the Head Girl if problems persist.
• Liaise with the Head Girl and Deputies, to pass on information and instructions.
• Stand in for Head Girl and Deputies in assembly and in supervising chairing
the
hall as necessary.
• Assist with and attend school events to include Senior Speech Day, Open
Evenings, Parents Evenings and Options Evenings.
• Carry out other duties to include attendance at after school and evening events
as required by the Senior Leadership Team, Sixth Form Team and Head Girl
Team.
• Liaise with Mrs Carr for directions on assistance with Junior Choir.
• Liaise with Director of Music for help with Open evenings, Concerts, Founders
Day and Carol Services
• Liaise with Director of Music on performances in assembly. Oversee these on
Thursdays and Fridays
• Liaise with Dame Helen and Miss Bridges for distributing music certificates in
assembly.

• Liaise with Miss Mitchell for directions on responsibilities, e.g. PE
noticeboards.
• Liaise with your PE prefects to pass on any relevant instructions and ensure
they are carried out.
• Speak directly to any individuals if they are not fulfilling roles and report back to
the Head Girl if problems persist.
• Organise and coordinate meetings of the Sports Council which should meet
once every term with sports representatives from the whole school.
• Liaise with the Head Girl and Deputies, to pass on information and instructions
to
the prefects in their team.
• Stand in for Head Girl and Deputies in assembly and in supervising chairing
the
hall as necessary.
• Assist with school events to include Senior Speech Day, Open Evenings,
Parents Evenings and Options Evenings.

• Arrange publicity for department events.
• Meet regularly (as arranged) with your assigned Head of Department or other
member of staff.

• Refresh and maintain displays in classrooms and corridors, as directed by your
department or office.
