IN-STATE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
The NC State George & Reba Worsley Finance and Business Scholarship has been established to provide
scholarship support for the children of permanent employees in the Finance and Business division at NC State
University. Students can be enrolled at the graduate or undergraduate level, but must be enrolled full time for
consideration. Awards are made based on financial need, with academic merit as a second criterion. Eligible
students must apply for this scholarship annually, and may be considered for funding for no more than four
academic years (or eight semesters). To demonstrate financial need, applicants must complete and submit a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.gov, and request that the results be released to
NC State (school code 002972). Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA by March 1, 2015. To
apply, go online at http://www7.acs.ncsu.edu/financial_aid/schphs.html. Scholarship applications should be
submitted to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid by May 1, 2015
The NC State Carrier/Bryant Dependent Scholarship has been established to provide scholarship support for the
children of permanent employees of an authorized Carrier/Bryant dealer in North or South Carolina who
demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the

The NC State City of Raleigh Dependent Scholarship has been established to provide scholarship support for the
children of permanent employees of the City of Raleigh. Eligible students must show exceptional academic
achievement and demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. To apply, go online at

The NC State Cross & Chalice J. Smith Capel Scholarship has been established to provide scholarship support for
the children of permanent employees of Capel. To apply, go online at

The NC State Family Scholarship has been established to provide need-based scholarship assistance to full-time
first-degree undergraduate students enrolled at NC State whose parents are permanent full-time employees of NC
State University. The value of this scholarship varies depending upon the student’s need for financial assistance
and availability of funds. In addition to financial need, criteria such as academic performance, motivation, and
leadership potential may also be considered in selecting recipients. Eligible students must apply for this scholarship
annually, and may be considered for funding for no more than four academic years (or eight semesters). To
demonstrate financial need, applicants must complete and submit a 2013-43 Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.gov, and request that the results be released to NC State (school code

NON-SCHOOL SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS
AWeber Email Marketing Scholarship. The 2015 AWeber Email Marketing Scholarship is currently being
offered to students in the United States who are currently enrolled as full-time college freshmen, sophomores
and juniors, as well as high school seniors. This scholarship is worth $1,000. To apply, go online at
http://www.aweber.com/email-marketing-scholarship.htm, fill out a 9-question survey and respond to the
following prompt with a 500 word essay:
“In recent decades, communication has changed rapidly and impacted society in dramatic ways. Think of how it
has evolved over recent generations, and answer the following questions:
1. How have communication tools and habits changed from your parents’ generation, compared to yours?
Has this been a positive, negative or neutral change, and why?
2. How do you think communication tools and habits will change for your children? Will this be a positive,
negative or neutral change, and why?”
You must complete the survey and email in your essay (to [email protected]) by the deadline of May 31,
2015.
The Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Scholarship Program offers scholarship awards and once-in-a-lifetime
apprenticeship experiences to African American youth looking to pave the way for their futures. The program is
under the umbrella of the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, and since 2012, the popular talk show host and
best-selling author has been providing this opportunity. Partnering with the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward program
builds on Harvey’s long-term commitment to mentoring youth. His foundation has long hosted mentoring camps
for young African-American men. The camps promote educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring and global
service initiatives. Each year, the program impacts 100 youth in five cities across the country. Winning students will
get to participate in an apprenticeship allowing them to help with the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program, including
working with members of Steve Harvey's team and learning what it takes to run the Steve Harvey Morning Show
and Family Feud. They also get an opportunity to meet and be mentored by Steve Harvey himself. The winning
student will also be awarded a scholarship to help pay for college tuition. The program is open to both teens and
young adults between the ages of 16-21. Nominators must be 16 years of age or older. Eligible youth also may
nominate themselves. Winners will be selected and contacted within two months after the deadline. The deadline
for this scholarship is May 15, 2015, and the award amount is usually $5,000. For more details, visit

College Insider Resources – Athletic Students Scholarship. This program is available to seniors athletes who have
a minimum 2.7 GPA and who will attend an accredited college, university, or technical school following graduation
from high school. The scholarship amount is $1,000 [one-time award] and the application deadline is at the end of

Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program. The Foundation makes scholarships available to incoming
freshmen seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. The
scholarships recognize students who are actively involved in the diabetes community, who have high academic
performance, who participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that
they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Diabetes Scholars Foundation scholarships

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is open to U.S. and Canadian students age 8 through 18. The prize is
awarded to students who have done an extraordinary service project that has benefited the community or the
environment. Up to 25 students will be awarded prizes. The Barron Prize recognizes these young people as heroes
because they have accomplished something on their own with a heartfelt desire to change another person's life
forever, or make the world a safer, healthier and cleaner place to live. Prize money can be used for furthering their
education or funding their project. Students must be nominated by someone who has good knowledge of their
project, such as teachers, librarians, school counselors, youth service officials, and religious leaders. Projects
must be the student's own work and cannot be part of a school or other assignment. Students nominated are
those who are generous of nature and truly want to do something extraordinary to help others. The award was
named in honor of Gloria Barron, a teacher from Boulder, Colorado who always encouraged her family and others
to make a positive difference in the world. Gloria's quiet heroism led her to create a nature museum at the
Colorado School for the Blind where students could learn by touching. It was her quiet heroism that inspired her
son to name the scholarship after his mother, his hero. The deadline for this scholarship is April 15, 2015, and the

Islamic Scholarship Fund. The Fund [ISF] is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization founded in 2006 to encourage
Muslim students in the U.S. to pursue college and post graduate degrees in humanities, social sciences and liberal
arts through awarding annual scholarships of $1,000-$10,000 to deserving students.
Students must be studying at a “top 20” university of their respective major according to one of the major rating

Louie Family Foundation Scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to attend a U.S.accredited college or
university. Qualifying students must demonstrate financial need, disabilities, have overcome great adversities in
their lives, or whose parents are in the military. Students must have a grade point average of 3.4 or above, a SAT
score of 1800, or a ACT score of 25. In addition, they must have outstanding personal achievements and leadership
qualities demonstrated through helping their communities. Applicants may attend either a two-year or four-year
college or university or vocational school in the U.S. The scholarship is sponsored by The Kim and Harold Louie
Family Foundation which was established in 2005 by Betty B. Louie in honor of her parents. The scholarship is one
of many foundation programs which assist the sick and disabled. Ms. Louie co-founded a company that is a leading
provider of disability evaluation services. The foundation awards 25 scholarships a year to deserving students. The
deadline for this scholarship is MARCH 14, 2015, and the award amount is usually $4,000. For more details, visit

Mary Moy Quan Ing Memorial Journalism Scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the Asian American
Journalists Association [AAJA] and is a $2,000 scholarship to an Asian high school senior who is enrolling in college
and pursuing a journalism career. Applications available online at

The North Carolina Bar Association awards scholarships to children of North Carolina law enforcement officers
killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. Awards range from $250-$4,000. Applications can be accessed by

North Carolina High School Athletic Association JERRY MCGEE ENDOWED STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP: Awarded to
two senior year high school student-athletes from North Carolina High School Athletic Association member schools
each year. This award is unique because it honors both male and female student-athletes who have distinguished
themselves by overcoming adversity and returned to excel beyond expectations in their scholastic athletic sport(s).

North Carolina High School Athletic Association MINORITY STUDENT-ATHLETE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: To
provide scholarship support to an outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native* and/or Asian
Pacific Islander American**, or Hispanic American student-athlete participating on a sanctioned varsity team at a
North Carolina High School Athletic Association member school. Award Process: One male and one female from
each of the eight regions will be selected to receive a $750 scholarship each to further their education. From the
pool of sixteen (16) regional winners, one male and female will be selected as overall state winners and receive an

North Carolina High School Athletic Association TONY CULLEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: To provide scholarship

SEG[Society of Exploration Geophysicists]Foundation Scholarships encourage the study of geophysics and related
geosciences. The SEG Foundation offers a range of different scholarship opportunities. SEG Scholarships are based
on merit and applicants must be intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied
geophysics or a closely related field such as geosciences, physics, geology, or earth and environmental sciences.
Scholarships range from $500 to $14,000 USD per academic year; average awards are approximately $2,500. There
are approximately 75 different scholarships. Half are unrestricted scholarships; the rest have specific donor
intentions that include consideration for major/minor, university, career intention, involvement in student
activities, year of study, or particular research field.Interested students complete one application which provides
the committee with information to determine eligibility and to match students to available scholarships.For more

Toshiba Machine Co., America has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their
education in an industrial maintenance or plastics processing program of study. Applicants must be high school
seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year
college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. High school seniors must
also have a 3.0+ GPA. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to two awards will be
granted each year, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Wake County Extension & Community Association’s Maude P. McInnes Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is
awarded annually to a graduating senior planning to enroll full-time at a North Carolina university, college,
community or technical school. Applicants must be a resident of Wake County and have a 2.5+ GPA. Special
consideration will be given to applicants seeking careers in family consumer science or related fields and to
applicants who are currently enrolled or have been enrolled in a Family Consumer Science program, Future
Homemakers of America, Family Consumer Science Related Occupation Association, or 4-H member, or a relative
of an Extension & Community Association member. Applications are available in the Guidance Resource Center,
