Sri Lanka's most popular historic

resemble the outline of a lion from
distance. King Kasyapa built his
palace and decorated its walls with
colorful frescoes which can even be
seen today. These frescoes, along
with India¿s Ajantha cave frescoes
are world renowned for lasting through the ages and their awe-inspiring beauty. When you
climb along the side of the rock, about halfway up, you will encounter a gateway that although
in ruins, resembles a gigantic lions paw. Today, Sigiriya is a UNESCO listed World Heritage
Site and remains as one of the best examples of ancient urban planning in Sri Lanka.

true feeling of the ‘city’ of Colombo – and where better than through the crazy hustle and
bustle of Pettah? This offers your guest who spends a night/two in Colombo to actually see
the side of Colombo that has not been modified to suit the ‘tourist’.
Walk the guests through the streets where they can experience firsthand the borrowed woods
from the Portuguese to the amazing architecture the Dutch/English left behind, see the land all while vision and love the Englishman had for this learning and experiencing what being
"Sri Lankan" is all about.
While walking through these streets we will
also give the guests who are into
photography ‘ideal scenario’ locations and
guidance to take the best pictures of the
amazing architecture.
Colombo like many capital cities in
developing countries is fast changing its
face.
Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from
where old buildings once stood. Yet in
some parts, the old world charm is retained.
Theme Dinner Sri Lanka Farewell Dinner
NUGAGAMA
The creation in Colombo of a rural village with all its vital aspects is unique to the Cinnamon
Grand. It provides visitors the chance not only to experience the ambiance of rural life
without leaving the capital, but also to enjoy typical Sri Lankan cuisine, witness
entertainment that reflects village lifestyle, learn about tradition and culture, and purchase
authentic local handicrafts. The village is called Nuga Gama (nuga = banyan tree, gama =
village), the reason for which becomes obvious when you glimpse the enormous banyan,
probably two centuries old, that dominates the area. The ethos at Nuga Gama is to offer
visitors a chance to experience rural hospitality right in the heart of the city.
