CED is looking for qualified and committed candidates to join its team and
fill the following positions:
1. Program Coordinator
Centre for Education and Development (CED), Somalia is a growing non-governmental
humanitarian and development organization working in Somalia with a good track record in
its humanitarian and development work. CED responds to emergency and development needs
in Somalia and assists Somali communities towards self-reliance. CED works with poor local
communities through sustainable community development programs to overcome ignorance,
hunger, injustice and inequality.
Program Coordinator – Full time
Location: Mogadishu, Somali
Purpose of the Job
The Program Coordinator (PC) will provide overall leadership and coordination for ensuring
the accomplishment of the objectives of the Program Initiatives under his/her responsibility.
The position will be responsible for providing strategic decisions on scaling up or sustaining
key program initiative results, assist Project Managers (PMs) in implementing their activities
effectively. The program Coordinator will ensure there is an effective working relationship
with key government partners, donors and NGOs working in the same geographic areas.
The PC is also responsible in identifying funding opportunities for ongoing and new programs
initiatives and to initiate and participate in the design of programs and program initiatives.
When working with project managers the position requires facilitating development of quality
proposals and coordinating transparent system of disbursement of grants accordingly. The PC
will represent CED in various internal and external partner and stakeholders meetings.
The position will report to CED Executive Director and will be based in Mogadishu, Somalia
with frequent travel to Nairobi, Kenya.
Required Qualifications:
Education/Training
Required
Master’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and related
work experience.

At least three years’ experience in managing projects of similar size and scope.
Line management experience, with previous responsibility for staff, resources, and
contracts.

2. Fund Raising and Donor Compliance Manager – Full time
Location - Nairobi, Kenya
Purpose of the job
The Fund Raising and Donor Compliance Manager will be responsible for liaising with
donors, donor research, monitor the funding requirements of the organisation and
identify and develop new sources of income and suitable donors in order to maximise
external funding for programs. Primary responsibilities include the institutional
fundraising and resource development; external communications; advocacy; cultivating
and maintaining relationships with partner agencies, donors and other stakeholders;
participating in the representation of the organization in various arenas; and serving as
member of the Management Team of CED.
The position will report to CED Executive Director and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya
with frequent travel to Somalia.
Required Qualifications: required training and experience
1. Advanced University degree in communications, public relations international
development, humanitarian affairs, international relations, social or political
science or other relevant area.
2. Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience with NGOs and Donors
particularly in the area of fundraising, project development, advocacy,
communication and information management.
3. Experience of project design, project management cycle, participatory appraisal
techniques, and financial and budget management.
4. Proven track record of securing donor funds and managing donor relationships.
5. Considerable experience on writing high quality concept notes, proposals and
reports and ability to deliver presentations to potential funders.
6. Networking and research skills
7. Strong experience in fund-raising and partnerships strategies.
8. Good information management and analyses of information.

3. Office Manager – Full time
Location - Nairobi, Kenya
Purpose of the Job
The primary responsibility of this position will be office administration, HR, logistics and
accounting/financial management of the CED office in Nairobi. The Office Manager shall be
responsible for overseeing the administrative and financial management, accountability
requirements and logistics and procurement management of the office in Nairobi.

Proven ability to provide support, guidance and training to financial and non-financial
managers and colleagues.

Experience in financial management of donor-funded programs
Knowledge of QuickBooks multi-currency accounting software (field based

4. Human Resource and Administration Officer – Full time
Location Mogadishu, Somalia
Purpose of the function
The position will be responsible for coordination of the mission’s human resource
management, and to ensure continuous development and application of resultant procedures
for effective people management, as well as administrative function for CED Somalia.
Required qualifications
1. First degree in a relevant course, with at least 3 years experience at a management
level, preferably in an NGO setting;
2. Must have post-graduate training in Human Resource Management
3. Planning, organizational and analytical skills and a team player
4. Must have in depth experience in HR administrative function; should demonstrate
administrative expert
5. Ability to identify and build talent
6. Excellent Management, Interpersonal and Communication, decision –making and

5. Logistics and Supplies Officer– Full time
Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Purpose of the function
The primary responsibility of this position will be procurement and logistics administration of
all office and project needs. The position reports directly to Human Resources and
Administration Manager. The Logistics and supply officer shall be responsible for overseeing
the logistics and purchasing of all office and project needs in Somalia. This position must
assure the contractual integrity of all agreements entered into by the office, managing the
purchasing and logistics process and looking out for the interests of the organization. S/he will
carry out procurements & logistics in conformity with the donor guidelines and CED’s
internal procurement & logistics policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration or any other
related field.
2. At least 4 years of relevant work experience in areas such as procurement, and
logistics preferably with NGOs.
3. The candidate must be able to manage several tasks simultaneously, be flexible
and be willing to assume a range of unanticipated assignments.
4. The position requires excellent attention to detail, organization skills and maturity.
5. Ability to work as a team and co-ordinate with other project team members.

6. Program Officer – Full time
Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Purpose of the function
The Program Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of CED’s program
including the analyses of the problems faced by the community, the design, development and
implementation of effective program interventions, monitoring/evaluation and the
management and development of staff and resources under the program.
Required Qualifications:
1. Graduate degree in development studies, social science or related discipline.
2. At least 5 years experience of which 3 years in managing emergency and development
responses with International NGOs.

6. Experience in managing large emergency operations.
7. Knowledge and experience in a range of participatory and gender sensitive
approaches.
