The Warren County Career Center’s Adult Education and Workforce Development Division is one of Ohio’s Full-Service Centers, a
proud partner in the University System of Ohio. We offer comprehensive training programs with advanced technological capabilities,
modern equipment, facilities and skilled instructors. Diversified training programs and customized services are offered at our three

FULL TIME CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Basic Police Officer Academy
This 600-hour program prepares students to take the Ohio Peace Officer
Training Academy (OPOTA) certification exam. Located at the Southern
Hills Career and Technical Center in Georgetown, OH.
Cosmetology/Cosmetology Management
This 1,500-1800 hour program prepares students to take the Ohio Board
of Cosmetology Licensure Exam, which allows successful completers
to work as hairstylists, estheticians and nail technicians. Students may
choose to take an additional 300-hour course, which prepares them for
salon management.
Heavy Equipment and Site Construction Technician and CDL A
This 600-hour or 820-hour course utilizes the NCCER curriculum.
Students receive training on 11 pieces of Caterpillar equipment.
Instruction includes reading blueprints, grade checking equipment,
GPS equipment (survey and machine operation), safety, and preventive
maintenance. The 820-hour course includes CDL Class A Commercial
Truck Driver training with Drop-deck trailer & HazMat training. Required
externship: (120 hours)
Information Technology
Cisco Certified Network Administrator
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
Hands-on lab time in both programs provides opportunity to gain skills
required for certification exams. Both programs include certifications
in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Windows 7
Implementation (MCTS), and CompTIA Server+. Additionally, Cisco
Network Administrator includes certification in Cisco Certified Entry
Networking Technician (CCENT) and Cisco Certified Network Associate
(CCNA). MCSA includes certification in Windows 2007, Enterprise
Desktop Support Technician. Warren County Career Center is a
Regional Authorized Assessment Center with two locations; Kings Mills
and Lebanon, OH.
Medical Assistant
Electromechanical PLC Technician
This 900-hour program prepares students to work in a physician’s office,
clinic, hospital or other medical facility. Learn office management,
computer billing, in-office clinical procedures, patient care, and more.
Required externship: (220 hours).
Electrical Power Line Mechanic
This 720-hour program equips students for entry-level coding jobs in a
clinical, hospital, or office setting. Along with medical coding, students
learn keyboarding and computer skills, medical terminology, anatomy
and physiology, and more. Required externship: (80 hours).
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
This 736-hour program prepares students with cross-training in more
than one healthcare skill. In addition to general education and health
technology core courses, students get specialized training as a
Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA),
EKG Technician (CET) and Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). Required
externship: (170 hours).
This 600-hour program provides classroom and hands-on training
needed for entry-level maintenance positions in today’s industrial
setting. Fees include tuition, textbooks, tools, OSHA 30 Hour General
Industry and American Heart First-Aid/CPR certifications.
This 900-hour program provides skills needed to be highly productive
on utility and construction company line crews in the power delivery
industry. The program focuses strongly on students learning the
academic and field skills necessary to be successful apprentice line
workers. Fees include tuition, textbooks, tools, CDL Class A Training, and
certifications for OSHA 10 Hour General Industry and American Heart
First-Aid/CPR
This 600-hour HVAC program provides training in required skills for entry
level positions with companies that install, operate, troubleshoot and
service light commercial and domestic air conditioning, refrigeration,
and heating equipment in private homes, office buildings, factories, etc.
Fees include tuition, textbooks, tools, OSHA 30 Hour General Industry
and American Heart First-Aid/CPR, EPA (Sec.608 & R-410A), and ICE
certifications.

Medical Multiskilled Technician
Welding Technician/AWS Certified
This 600-hour program correlates to the American Welding Society’s
Guide for Training and Qualification of Welding Personnel-Entry Level
Welder. Fees include tuition, textbooks, apparel, tools, American
Welding Society Certifications, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, and
American Heart First-Aid/CPR certifications.

Welcome to the Warren County Career Center Adult Technical
Division. This outstanding technical training facility is committed
to helping adults achieve educational and career goals. The
Adult Technical Division prides itself on quality and value.
If you are looking to fulfill a New Year’s Resolution to better
yourself through education, change your career path or simply
take up a new hobby, I invite you to take a look at the exciting
programs and courses offered in this catalog. In addition to the
state-of-the-art facility located in Lebanon, we offer classes
in Kings Mills, Greentree Health Science Academy at Atrium
Medical Center in Middletown, Southern Hills Career Center
Campus in Georgetown, the Scarlet Oaks Career Campus in
Sharonville and our newest location at the Upper Valley Career
Center in Piqua.
We are accredited by the Commission of the Council on
Occupational Education and operate as a University System of
Ohio educational provider through the Ohio Board of Regents.
Our programs offer articulated college credit with our local
colleges and universities for those of you desiring to take your
education to an even higher level.
Our training is provided by faculty and staff who are the real
deal. Each one comes from business and industry, knows
the current occupational trends and brings this real world
environment into the classroom. Our programs offer exciting,
cutting edge technology and possess high placement rates
for our graduates.

our Health & Medical and IT program offerings to include
Medical Assistant, State Tested Nursing Assistant, Medical
Multiskilled Technician, Medical Billing and Coding, Pharmacy
Technician, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy Technician. IT is
now offering two full-time programs in CISCO Certified Network
Administrator and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate.

How do I get enrolled?
General Admission Requirements for
Full-Time Career Development Programs
Note:A full-time program requires 600 or more clock hours
of training.
1. Review individual Full-Time program information & details in this
catalog and on our website: www.mywccc.org
2. Contact the Program Coordinator and schedule an admissions
appointment. Call 513-932-8145 and ask for the Program
Coordinator of the program of interest.
3. Review financial aid information (see below) and complete a
FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid
4. Complete and submit a Full-Time Program Application with an
official copy of your high school or GED transcript.
5. Pay the $ 60, non-refundable Application Fee
6. Schedule and take the WorkKeys Assessment
7. Make tuition/fee payment or apply for a grant or loan– see
Financial Aid information below
1. You must have a High School Diploma or GED.
2. Satisfactory completion of the WorkKeys Assessment
(see below).
3. Program specific requirements: See individual program
descriptions.
WorkKeys Assessment
The WorkKeys Assessment is required for admission to all full-time
programs and some part-time classes/programs as specified in
course descriptions. Call our main office for registration.
The WorkKeys Assessment is a standardized test with three parts:
1. Applied Math
2. Locating Information
3. Reading for Information
Career-Technical Credit Transfer Program – CT²
The Career-Technical Credit Transfer program assists WCCC
students:
• To enroll in equivalent technical courses anywhere within Ohio’s
public educational system.
• To obtain technical credits (upon enrollment in higher education)
without unnecessary course duplication or other institutional
barriers.
• To attain their highest educational aspirations in the most
efficient and effective manner as a result of clear and consistent
standards.
Many programs at the Warren County Career Center are CT²
approved and are so noted with the CT² icon.

Earn College Credit
College credit is available for WCCC program completers in
selected programs. Agreements between WCCC and individual
colleges state the details on how you can be awarded credits at the
college/university for coursework completed at WCCC. Look for the

1. Federal Title IV Financial Aid
• *Pell Grant – Need based federal grant that does not have
to be repaid. Maximum grant for the 2014-2015 award year
is $5,730 for a 900 clock hour program. Grants for programs
less than 900 clock hours are prorated.
• *Subsidized Direct Loan – Need based loan. The U.S.
Department of Education pays interest while the borrower
is in school. Maximum award amount is $3,500 for both
independent and dependent students for a 900 clock hour
program. Loans for programs less than 900 clock hours are
prorated. Repayment normally begins six months after the
student leaves school.
• *Unsubsidized Direct Loan – Not need based. Borrower is
responsible for interest during the life of the loan. Maximum
amount is $2000 for a dependent student and $ 6000 for an
independent student for a 900 clock hour program. Loans for
programs less than 900 clock hours are prorated. Repayment
normally begins six months after the student leaves school.
• Direct Parent Plus Loan – Parents of dependent students may
apply. Loan amount may not exceed total cost of attendance
less any other aid.
*Federal Title IV Financial Aid Award Year 2014 – 2015
begins July 1, 2014 and ends June 30, 2015.
2. Bureau Of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) - For students
with physical, mental or emotional disabilities that present a
handicap to employment. Aid may be available to cover tuition,
books, and supplies. Contact your county Bureau of Vocational
Rehabilitation office.
3. Veterans Educational Benefits – Eligible veterans should call
the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs for questions regarding
education benefits (888-442-4551) or visit www.gibill.va.gov. A
Certificate of Eligibility and the veteran’s DD214 are needed in
order to certify the veteran for education benefits.

How to Register for the GED Computer Based Tests:
Adult Basic & Literacy Education Classes
Warren County Career Center Main Campus and South Campus are
Regional Authorized Test Centers for the GED.
Create an account, register and schedule tests online:
1. Go to www.GED.com
2. Enter email and password to create account.
3. Begin registration/schedule exam of one test (module) or more:
Reasoning Through Language Arts (150 minutes), Mathematical
Reasoning, Science, Social Studies (all 90 minutes)
4. The cost for each module is $30; the total cost for all 4 tests is $120.
5. $ 80 Voucher available for Ohio test-takers. Go to
www.mywccc.org/, click on Adult Education, scroll down and on
right side of page, look for topic “Services and Programs”, click on

HOW TO REGISTER
Senior citizens (62 years of age and
older) may enroll in part-time, shortterm adult education classes for onehalf the cost of the tuition. Veterans
of the U.S. Armed Forces are entitled
to take resume and interviewing skills
classes at no cost. This program does
not include full-time adult education
programs or those considered career
development programs. The above
discounts will be offered only when
there is adequate revenue to run the
course and space is available. Any
textbook and/or manual, supplies and
lab fees needed for the course(s) would
be an additional cost for the enrollee
and is not included in the cost of the
tuition.
NOTE:
1.Selected part-time classes,
workshops or special events may be
exempt from discounts–check with
coordinator.
2.Please identify yourself as a Senior
Citizen at the time of registration.
Discounts will not be awarded once
the registration process is completed.
No Senior discount will be given
after a class has started. Seniors are
officially enrolled at the discounted
rate when minimum enrollment
required for the class has been met.

Information Technology program and

Tested Nursing Assistant class. If the
student does not provide the required
notice, no refund will be issued.
Career Enhancement Courses
(1-599 Clock Hours)
If a program meets for only one session,
a refund is available only to students
who notify the Adult Education and
Workforce Development Department of
their withdrawal 72 hours prior to the
session starting.
For programs that meet for more than
one session and for 20 hours or less, full
refunds are available only to students
who withdraw at least 72 hours prior
to the start of the first class. Students
who withdraw after that but before the
second class session begins, will be
charged a prorated fee for the first class
session. No refund will be available
if the student withdraws after the
beginning of the second class.
UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF OHIO
For programs that are 21-599 clock
hours long, full refunds are available
only to students who withdraw at
least 72 hours prior to the start of the
first class. Students who withdraw
after that, but before the second class
session begins, will be charged a
prorated fee for the first class session
and a $25 administrative fee. No
refund will be available if the student
withdraws after the beginning of the
second class.

Financial obligation is calculated on a
term-by-term basis. Each 600-900 clock
hour Full-Time program is divided into
two equal terms. Once the term begins,
tuition will be refunded according to
Warren County Career Center’s refund
policy as published in the WCCCAEWD
Student Consumer Handbook. If the
student is receiving Federal financial
aid, an additional calculation will be
made using the Return To Title IV Funds
policy, which is mandated by the U.S.
Department of Education.
